ironbut Posted February 20, 2018 Report Posted February 20, 2018 Samsung has unveiled the video studio's dream storage unit. How many would Bad Robot need? https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/2/20/17031256/worlds-largest-ssd-drive-samsung-30-terabyte-pm1643 Quote
Torpedo Posted February 20, 2018 Report Posted February 20, 2018 That's great news. If the price is sensible, a smaller unit could be very high in my computer "need" list Quote
skullguise Posted February 20, 2018 Report Posted February 20, 2018 Dang.....I wonder if you can partition it and do RAID 1 Mirror - that would be great instead of my Synology NAS......otherwise I'd have to buy two Quote
ironbut Posted February 20, 2018 Author Report Posted February 20, 2018 Bear in mind that when I mentioned Bad Robot Studios, I used that as an example of someplace with the unlimited budget to jump on these as they're being released. I think we're talking over $10k while it's on the bleeding edge. But, it will apply downward pressure on the rest of the market. I paid about $700 for a 2T Evo 850 not too long ago and OWC has Micron (Crucial) 2T ssd's on sale for under $400. 1 Quote
