thrice Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Did anyone else feel that Crash wasn't really the best film of 2005. I thought that at least one of the other 4 were better than Crash. Oh well, at least Philip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for Capote...he was brilliant.....IMHO of course
PFKMan23 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Atleast Brokeback Mountain didn't win best picture, although it was funny seeing best director and best picture going to different movies.

LOL...that's one of the movies I would've been ok with winning best picture...that or Good Night and Good Luck or Capote
nmculbreth Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I haven't seen Crash but I'm pretty suprised Brokeback Mountain didn't win. I personally didn't think Brokeback was all that great, I thought Good Night and Good Luck was a much better film it just didn't have the buzz.
PFKMan23 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Don't get me wrong, I'm very surpised it didn't win Best Picture, but I'm still very happy it didn't.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Did anyone else feel that Crash wasn't really the best film of 2005. I thought that at least one of the other 4 were better than Crash.I'm trying to think how many 2005 films I saw...17? There were 15 or 16 films better than Crash.
philodox Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I don't know... Crash was pretty good. But there was better.
tkam Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Crash was pretty good, but just looking at all the nominations made me realize what a mediocre year 2005 was for films.
mjg Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 360 mafia, "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp," I mean back in the day bach and motzart had it easy... 360 is so true to point out the hardships pimps face. the oscar awards are garbage. Our culture is pathetic stupid bullshit. i'd sooner give an award to the guy who pours my cofee in the morning then 360 mafia.
aerius Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I think I'm experiencing a time warp alternate reality or something. Every time I hear about the movie "Crash", I think about the 1996 David Cronenberg film about people who got off in car crashes. That was one weird film, car crash fetishists, who woulda thunk?
grawk Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I had that confusion too..."wtf, I thought this movie was old"
philodox Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 LOL, yeah I thought Crash was going to be a remake of that movie when I saw it.
aerius Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 heh, that cronenberg film wasn't weird enough to be good weird, in my opinion. In that case, you might want to check out Vulgar. If a movie about a transvestite party clown isn't weird enough, I don't know what is.
grawk Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I missed out on the vulgarthon a few years back, when I was in the area...but I have my vulgarians hockey jersey...
