TMoney Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 Rather than revive the 2014 thread I figured I'd get a new one going. Don't tell the boss, but not a lot of work is going to get done Thursday and Friday. My bracket... here goes nothing!
Wmcmanus Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 (edited) My picks are pretty similar. I have to pick KU to win every year. I would just be wrong not to. cbs-sports-2017.pdf Reader's Digest version.pdf Edited March 15, 2017 by Wmcmanus
velvetx Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 Been seeing a lot of Duke brackets but I think Arizona is going to take it home this year. http://freebracketchallenge.1.mayhem.cbssports.com/brackets/shareable-bracket/767b66c3b1f045110509e231cd9adb4f56548d2b167f9e7f?randkey=821435&ttag=BC17_tw_sh
Aura Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 Spent approx. 5 minutes blindly picking. Paid no attention nor did any analysis. Which means I'll probably do well this year. 2
TMoney Posted March 15, 2017 Author Report Posted March 15, 2017 Usually that is how you win the pool
dsavitsk Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 I believe that's how I won in 2014. Here's what this year's winning bracket looks like. 1
TMoney Posted March 16, 2017 Author Report Posted March 16, 2017 I have a lot of friends who are Northwestern alums and it was awesome to see them win their first ever tournament game! Gonzaga is going to drink their milkshake though.
MexicanDragon Posted March 18, 2017 Report Posted March 18, 2017 I have a lot of friends who are MTSU grads. I didn't realize they were there, or any good, but I saw more local basketball talk last week than I had since UTC(hattanooga) made it and was picked up by Jimmy Fallon. http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2017-03-16/march-madness-no-longer-underdogs-middle-tennessee-makes Maybe I should go watch that game against Butler at some local bar. **BRENT** 1
TMoney Posted March 18, 2017 Author Report Posted March 18, 2017 And down goes Nova! I've still got all my elite 8 alive, but that can change quickly. The Northwestern love was nice while it lasted. They have zero chance against this Gonzaga team.

The Northwestern love was nice while it lasted. They have zero chance against this Gonzaga team. Zero is being kind. I picked Wisconsin, and in fact having them winning the next game as well, but Duke going to the Final 4. Actually, looking at Dave's brackets above, my East is identical to his. 1
TMoney Posted March 20, 2017 Author Report Posted March 20, 2017 A lot of great games today. I guess a good second round is the reward for such a shitty first round.
grawk Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 I don't really watch any sports except hockey, but I do follow Gonzaga, because my dad played for them in the late 60s. I will have to call him, because WVU is where he went to medical school... 2
TMoney Posted March 20, 2017 Author Report Posted March 20, 2017 That is awesome, Dan. Men's basketball?
grawk Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 yup, he was a guard. That was long before they were a significant team, however. 1
EdipisReks1 Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 well, UC had a good first half, at least.
TMoney Posted March 24, 2017 Author Report Posted March 24, 2017 Awesome night of basketball. 3 of the 4 games come down to the final minute. Hope Friday can live up to this!
Wmcmanus Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Death of my brackets! Oregon outplayed and definitely outshot Kansas tonight. My Final 4 is gone. Only guessed 1 game right in the First 4, then got 24 in the first round, 10 out of the Sweet 16, and 4 out of the Elite 8. That's 39 in total. I've done better and I've done worse.
grawk Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 I watched 2/3 of yesterday's gonzaga game. As much basketball as I've seen in years.
TMoney Posted April 1, 2017 Author Report Posted April 1, 2017 Turns out the best game in March was in the Women's tournament. Awesome finish at the buzzer. http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/mississippi-state-ot-buzzer-beater-left-downs-uconn-en-1793916859 1
purk Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 I was cheering for MSU to win and they sure did deliver big time. Very thrilling toward the end. UConn made bad play toward end with leaving too much time on the clock. 1
n_maher Posted April 1, 2017 Report Posted April 1, 2017 It would have been near-criminal if that flagrant foul call decided the game. The timing of the victory is pretty funny too as I'd best most (myself included) woke up only to think that some elaborate prank was underway.
TMoney Posted April 4, 2017 Author Report Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) I'm embarrassed for the NCAA. That game was so shitty I think I might be done with college hoops for a long, long time. This ESPN piece about sums it up. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/19072726/referees-missed-shots-poor-play-make-forgettable-national-title-game Edited April 4, 2017 by TMoney
ironbut Posted March 17, 2018 Report Posted March 17, 2018 Here's hoping 2018 is better (I missed most of the 2017 games). It certainly is starting with a bang with Virginia loosing to UMBC! I had no plans to watch the game so when I got out of the shower I glanced at the CNN homepage to see if that asshole fired a cabinet member in the last hour and wow! Va didn't just loose. They got their asses kicked.
Hopstretch Posted March 17, 2018 Report Posted March 17, 2018 The Mrs. went to UVA. There had been some big talk about brackets etc. It's quiet tonight ... 1 1
