tkam Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 Anyone else watching The Expanse? I binged season 1 in about 3 days and season 2 is off to a fantastic start. Possibly the best sci-fi show since BSG...
CD44hi Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 Funny you should write about this show. I just finished episode 3, all 3 in a row. Look forward to the rest
EdipisReks1 Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 I disliked the first season. The second seasons has picked up more of the fun of the books, and the casting choices are settling for me.
Hopstretch Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 Have stayed away from it precisely because I liked the books. Might be time to give in?

I didn't really like the last book though (or the book with the poison slugs), so that made go a bit "whatever, it's already ruined, might as well watch the show and relive the best books"
RudeWolf Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 I'm starved for good space operas, so obviously I enjoyed the first season and second seems even better. Btw, did anyone notice that dialog tracks for S01 were mixed super horribly?
bjarnetv Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 if your starved for good space opera there is always the 110 episode long Legend of the galactic heroes to watch (its great)

tkam Posted March 18, 2017 Author Report Posted March 18, 2017 Season 1 is a bit slow, but I still found it enjoyable and season 2 has been amazing so far. Scifi channel officially picked it up for a 3rd season today.
Hopstretch Posted March 18, 2017 Report Posted March 18, 2017 OK I'll get cracking. Some crazy bastard should try and take on The Quantum Thief next.

morphsci Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 I really liked that the technology was pretty relatable to today without some quantum leap in how items were engineered.
EdipisReks1 Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 I didn't have an issue with the show, first season, per se, it was just compared to the books.

Nebby Posted May 22, 2018 Report Posted May 22, 2018 Unfortunately the deal isn't done, though I hope it does go thru. Hollywood reporter's title doesn't match their first line of the article "Amazon Studios is in talks to revive one of CEO Jeff Bezos' favorite properties." lol
tkam Posted May 22, 2018 Author Report Posted May 22, 2018 Amazon does have the streaming rights to the existing seasons, seems pretty likely this will happen. Fingers crossed.
Hopstretch Posted May 26, 2018 Report Posted May 26, 2018 It’s official. Bezos rapidly becoming the benevolent deity of nerd TV.
ironbut Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Just read that a couple of the side benefits of Amazon's taking on season 4 is; No set episode length- something I love about the more "craft conscious" shows like Fargo. More nudity!
tkam Posted September 13, 2018 Author Report Posted September 13, 2018 And probably higher budget as well. It's not like Bezos cares about prime video being profitable.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 14, 2018 Report Posted September 14, 2018 You say that like it's a bad thing.
