HiWire Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 I like the Super Jewel Box cases that come with SACDs, but it looks like they're getting hard to find (Acoustic Sounds still seems to have them). Also, I'm wondering if somebody makes good cases for regular CDs that fit the front and back (+ spine) labels properly. P.S. Has anybody heard the new Blu Spec CD2 discs? I'm thinking of getting Michael Jackson's Thriller in this format just for fun.
mikeymad Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 My favorite is the lift and lock style. Like mo-fi ones. It presents the cd to you. http://www.tapeheads.net/showpost.php?s=0bf558552d59e4a042a93a6dec731e1f&p=514006&postcount=8
HiWire Posted November 12, 2016 Author Report Posted November 12, 2016 Very nice. I'll see if I can find some... I think they're out of production again.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 Well yes, CD production as a whole has gone way down, I would think.
HiWire Posted November 12, 2016 Author Report Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) It still comprises a huge amount of music buying, though. I can always get the mass-market cases from Staples, but I was wondering if people had alternative choices. Looks like there isn't much demand for high-quality jewel boxes any more. I was impressed by the scratch-proof coating on my Blu-ray discs so I started wondering if anyone was investing in improved CD quality... looks like the only market for that sort of thing is in Asia, specifically Japan.
