deepak Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 I just picked up Heifetz Double Concertos (Bach, Mozart, Brahms) and the recording and music is wonderful If anyone else has any other recommendations please post, with impressions if you feel like it. And to those who don't know Borders stores are having a sale on a lot of their classical CDs/SACDs and I was able to use this 20% off coupon: http://www.mrcheapstuff.com/deals/2007/03/borders-printable-coupon-20-off/
Dusty Chalk Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 All of them. Especially all of the Heifetz. I'm skipping the operas, but other than that, I'm getting all of them. Was listening to the Bartok just last night, and the tonal colors on that one are right up there with Ravel, as far as I am concerned. This one: I think Heifetz has like 3 or 4 of them at this point: Argh, I don't have this one yet:
deepak Posted April 26, 2007 Author Report Posted April 26, 2007 Thanks will get the Bartok, I was going to get Tchaikovsky/Heifetz next.
postjack Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 This is one of my favorites: All the Heifetz ones are great. Anything with Fritz Reiner and the CSO. Also check out sa-cd.net to read more reviews: http://www.sa-cd.net/titles/0/296/date/100/1
postjack Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 But, like DC said, I will own them all eventually. I have 23 right now, and bought all of them for between 8 and 12 bucks a piece. I mean, how awesome is that.
