swt61 Posted August 26, 2023 Report Posted August 26, 2023 I bought Al's niece, Dorothy a pair of those Edifiers. For the price, I find them pretty amazing. Along with a U-turn Audio turntable (with built in phono amp) and a cheap Blu-ray player for CD and video playback, and she has a system that's easy to use and with built in Bluetooth, her phone is her usual source. 3 1 Quote

That bass quality with the 15" Gold drivers deliver the best overall sound (to my ears). After having tried several different 60's and 70's silverface receivers, I settled on McIntosh MX110-Z for the tube setup and Marantz Model 18 receiver for solid state. I'm still trying to decide between the McIntosh MI-75s and the Marantz 8B. They both have their strengths. 2 Quote
