I think my '70 Chevelle SS had one in it. Never bought any 8 tracks, but played one in it once. Almost threw it out the window! Man were those things bad.
mikeymad Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 I don't know - but I want to listen to the Awesome Mix -- Vol. 2! -- on the Nakamichi. 3 1
Dusty Chalk Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 So those bulbous things are KT150 tubes/valves?
Craig Sawyers Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 Awww - you used "valves" just for little old me? Oh and Grahame I suppose.
Torpedo Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 In Spain we call them "válvulas". In other Spanish speaking countries they call them "tubos", but not in Spain. I rarely see them named valves in English. 1
guzziguy Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 In English, "valves" is used almost exclusively. In American, everyone says "tubes" except for Dusty! 😁 1
Craig Sawyers Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 Short for God's Truth. Sounds like a promotion to me, Dusty

Craig Sawyers Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 It is like zounds, that used to be used as an exclamation in Marvel and other comics. Actually is a contraction of God's Wounds, a reference to the Crucifixion. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 Egad. I've been doing it wrong. I used it as confirmation, like 'indeed'. What about 'zoiks'?

Torpedo Posted May 17, 2020 Report Posted May 17, 2020 The lovely cassette deck I mentioned above. TBH it wasn't as good sounding as the looks would suggest. Still I recorded a ton of vinyls into cassettes with that machine. 5
