EdipisReks1 Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 It's just that kind of show! I can't wait for the next ep. I feel like this one was a real turning point. In the best possible way. Anyone else really want to go on a date with Thandie Newton? I'd like to hear Basement Jaxx on player piano, next, but they've been fairly gothic. Maybe Bauhaus, next ep?
Dusty Chalk Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 Thandi Newton and Evan Rachel Wood were both phenomenal in this episode. "Limit your emotional affect, please." I actually shuddered at that transition. And then, before I even have a chance to catch my breath, "Why would I want that?"
EdipisReks1 Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 "Limit your emotional affect, please" is going to be my new catch phrase. 1

TMoney Posted October 31, 2016 Author Report Posted October 31, 2016 I keep thinking this show is going to talk its foot off the gas pedal and I keep being wrong. Loved the use of nine inch nails this week. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 + brownie points for using "talk its foot off the gas pedal" instead of "take its foot off the gas pedal". Damn. Extra nudity this week. I might have to watch this episode again when I'm less tired, try to pick up on the nuances. I was ...uh... distracted. I wonder what that player piano song that was playing ultra fast was after he snapped his fingers.. I might have to sample it and slow it down, see if I recognize it.

EdipisReks1 Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 I loved the Radiohead on the player piano. I'm also worried about Elsie. And the designers of the hosts broke Jacob's first rule of robotics: never make your AI sexbots faster and stronger than people! The Terminator is not a how-to guide! 1
Dusty Chalk Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 Fffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkokkkll!!!1! 1
crappyjones123 Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 Called out of work today from being quite sick this weekend. Didn't want to get others sick. Caught up on the last few episodes and I think it might be my favorite show of all time. I don't think Anthony Hopkins gets nearly the credit he deserves. Didn't realize Evan Rachel Wood was such a great actress. Also, what Dusty said..."what door?"
Dusty Chalk Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 This show is the greatest. Recognized House of the Rising Sun even before it was fully formed, vaguely recognized the second one, will return with answers and last week's, which I never identified.
n_maher Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 I'm saving everything beyond Ep2 for upcoming travel. Pretty fantastic so far. 1

Dusty Chalk Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 I'm going to rewatch the entire series, I've already rewatched the pilot. 1 hour ago, n_maher said: I'm saving everything beyond Ep2 for upcoming travel. Pretty fantastic so far. This has quickly become my favourite show on television (more so than even Mr. Robot), and is easily in my top 10 favourite of all time. You won't be able to watch it in public, though -- there are scenes where there are swaths of nekid peoples. 1
TMoney Posted November 21, 2016 Author Report Posted November 21, 2016 Not a bad idea, Peter. I might have to start going back through them as well IMO there is no comparison between WW and Mr. Robot.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 Agreed. They're completely different shows, and I often espouse the weakness of having "favourites", it's an entirely hypothetical concept, as I can watch either show as my mood swings. I'm sorry, it won't happen again. That host that greets Will is just fantastic, I love the way she coquettishly looks down, and when he diplomatically rejects her, she brightens up as if it truly mattered naught. My cable company politely reminded me that I had until 12/19 to finish rewatching the pilot.
crappyjones123 Posted November 23, 2016 Report Posted November 23, 2016 This episode took me to New Orleans. Had the pleasure of listening to Doreen live a few years ago. Just a magical performance.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 23, 2016 Report Posted November 23, 2016 I watched episode 3, "The Stray", in which there is a long conversation between Ford and Bernard. I noticed every time Ford mentioned the hosts, Bernard kind of clammed up, and I started thinking maybe Bernard wasn't hearing that part of the conversation. But then, later in the conversation, I was reminded that Bernard is fully aware of the hosts, since THAT'S HIS JOB, but I still wonder if they guided me through this thought process on purpose, knowing what I know now. 1
Jon L Posted November 23, 2016 Report Posted November 23, 2016 Just finished watching the latest episode E8, picking up my jaw off the floor slowly... Now I'm almost afraid to see where this whole thing is going. 3
Dusty Chalk Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 s01e05 Debussy, "Clair de Lune"? and Nine Inch Nails, "Something I Can Never Have" s01e06 Radiohead, "Fake Plastic Trees" and "Motion Picture Soundtrack"

Sechtdamon Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 (edited) Too... many... spoilers... Must... not... read... And curse you @TMoney !!! Westworld is terrific. I've never spend 2 hours per day on a series. Till Westworld, I've been watching 2 episodes per day. Edited November 24, 2016 by Sechtdamon 1
