n_maher Posted January 1, 2023 Report Posted January 1, 2023 Got the east coast ping pong table reassembled.Ā Ā 10
swt61 Posted January 23, 2023 Report Posted January 23, 2023 Some days I have fiddly, little stuff that takes time, with little visual reward.Ā The homeowners wanted to save these built-ins. We had to remove them temporarily to wire the walls behind. Either in the removal or during it's life, the cabinet was missing some little trim pieces that you just can't find today. So I have to manufacture my own. The end result just looks like nothing was done, when in fact it was a lot of fiddling. Ā 8 1
swt61 Posted February 17, 2023 Report Posted February 17, 2023 About half of this coffered ceiling and 1/3 of the wainscoting was missing. I had to manufacture some of the trim that is no longer available. Painters have done a fantastic job making my work look even better. 10
naamanf Posted February 17, 2023 Report Posted February 17, 2023 Looks good, reminds me of my Texas house.Ā 1 1
luvdunhill Posted March 10, 2023 Author Report Posted March 10, 2023 Inverted bearing with a hole in it. I hope it fits Ā 2
luvdunhill Posted March 25, 2023 Author Report Posted March 25, 2023 So, after hurting my back I left some things up to the pros. Look how that turned out. Yes the blue and red color in the background is the EMS. Ā 4
luvdunhill Posted March 25, 2023 Author Report Posted March 25, 2023 Just now, Grahame said: Brent level "Pro"'s ? Quite possible. I donāt compare their BAIās - now you mention it, it wasnāt cheap. Then they figured out that another one of these canāt move itself. So maybe they will fetch a crane.Ā
swt61 Posted March 25, 2023 Report Posted March 25, 2023 But if you think about it, the retaining wall is doing it's job very well. So there's that. I think you just got your projects mixed up. The bearing is supposed to be inverted, not the earth mover.

Oh yeah that project - I need a circle router template so I can recess the nut a bit on the back of the plinth. Ideal template would be a circle on the outside too so I could use that outside edge to cut away the dampening rubber backing on the plinth.
swt61 Posted March 26, 2023 Report Posted March 26, 2023 Sounds like a large washer might work. I bet someone could ping pong something for you.

Ā I have a router with a āStandard U.S. Guide Bushing Adapterā (Festool OF1010 EQ Imperial) but no guide bushing (or at least I donāt see one in the box). I have various straight shank bits in 3/8ā, 1/2ā, 3/4ā. I need the finished inside diameter to be 2-1/2ā and then the outside diameter to be 3-1/2ā (or up to maybe 4ā) and enough surface to make sure it sticks down real well.Ā
luvdunhill Posted March 31, 2023 Author Report Posted March 31, 2023 Ok, I think I figured it out. I want a 2.5ā finished circle, using a 1/2ā bit and a 3/4ā outside diameter bushing so I need a 2.75ā inside hole and a 4ā outside diameter. The thickness would be best if more than 9/16ā (thatās the height of the bushing). Did I pass the math test?Ā 2
luvdunhill Posted April 2, 2023 Author Report Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) So I received the bushing set a day early and think I got it all setup. I guess the dust collection has to come off when using the bushing insert? Ā Edited April 2, 2023 by luvdunhill 2
luvdunhill Posted April 6, 2023 Author Report Posted April 6, 2023 Success! The aluminum was exciting to go through.. Ā 3
Pars Posted July 16, 2023 Report Posted July 16, 2023 FInally got around to casing my DynaFET. I ordered the case from Modushop in November of 2021. I will probably clean up the wiring, particularly the output wiring. Also need to bolt the transformer down. I wish I would have done the lettering a bit smaller, but overall satisfied with how it turned out, and it sounds great, even though it is single-ended. 8
JoaMat Posted October 4, 2023 Report Posted October 4, 2023 Audiotailor āJadeā something. Current sources, surface mounted components and ordinary films and electrolytics in signal path. Board size just within 100 mm X 100 mm. Then I get 10 boards for only 4.90 dollars. Shipping cost to Sweden is the āheavyā burden.
JoaMat Posted October 12, 2023 Report Posted October 12, 2023 (edited) Built a small PSU - GRHV style - for a tube amplifier today. Ā Ops. seems I mixed the test leads -138.4V on the clock. It's supposed to be a positive voltage supply. Edited October 12, 2023 by JoaMat 1
JoaMat Posted October 13, 2023 Report Posted October 13, 2023 A senior Head Case member sent me two tubes some days ago. An old 6080 and a Westinghouse 12AX7A. Today I completed this in my kitchen. Amplifier is based on Jade, what now that is? PSU as mentioned above is based on Kevinās GRHV power supply. It has been some fun building days. 7
JoaMat Posted October 27, 2023 Report Posted October 27, 2023 JadeDubbleBottle is served. One 6922, two 300B and a few components on amp pcb. All DC filaments and GRHV at 140V. No cats and children have moved out so, no rush with chassis. 8
