swt61 Posted March 6, 2021 Report Posted March 6, 2021 Calculating how many albums Led Zeppelin sold.
Kerry Posted March 6, 2021 Report Posted March 6, 2021 (edited) To Nate’s comment... Wow, I’m now thinking of a smaller version I could inflate to do smaller jobs. I’ve seen the popup ones they use for spray tanning, but there a bit too small. Edited March 6, 2021 by Kerry 1
VPI Posted March 11, 2021 Report Posted March 11, 2021 Finally opened up the fancy little honing thing from Lie-Nielsen. Seems to be slightly better quality than the $20 Rockler one. 3
naamanf Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 Made a IWO badge for a friend's wife's retirement. Maple machines SO much better than walnut. Going to be doing some NFO wings this weekend in Cherry. Still have another 50 Army ones to do. 🤦♂️ 7 1
naamanf Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 New wing in the works. Naval Flight Officer. 5

swt61 Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Doubtful. Walnut just has stringier, brittle grain. 1 2
VPI Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) Visited an open house down the street. Should I try to buy all of this? Edited March 14, 2021 by VPI 2
VPI Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Dude made some pretty cool giant trains as a hobby I guess. The drill press could come in handy. Also has ton of vintage microscopes from the old parent company of Leica. 1

VPI Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 I told the realtor I would take the 3 car garage with the shop above but did not need the house. They did not think the owner would go for that. 1 2
n_maher Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Purchase the stuff, unless he wants a mint for it.
kevin gilmore Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) the lathe is very decent, and capable of cutting screw threads if you ever need that. even though its early 1960's vintage. the other stuff is not capable of anything of high accuracy. at least not without digital readouts. And its heavier than it looks. just the lathe top is probably about 700 lbs Edited March 14, 2021 by kevin gilmore
swt61 Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 My own top is quickly moving toward a similar weight. 1

kevin gilmore Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 the harder the wood the easier it is to machine it. african blackwood has less issues than ebony. 1
swt61 Posted March 16, 2021 Report Posted March 16, 2021 Set kitchen cabinets with Milo. Maybe he took pics. 1
n_maher Posted March 16, 2021 Report Posted March 16, 2021 Looking forward to pics from both of you. That's quite the stack, Naaman, and those top two slabs on the left are pretty fricken epic.
