Stex Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I recently acquired a set of SR5N earspeakers, with white color. I am asking that how can one's decide if it is a gold editon or not?
spritzer Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) The plates are gold anodized... Edited January 22, 2016 by spritzer
Stex Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Posted January 22, 2016 I am not sure, as I've seen that the black model, SR5NB is much more goldish than the white one. Also, the lids those hold the sides are silver ...and yet, these are rather SR5 Yellow due to the homogous amount of UV it was exposed...
Hopstretch Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Quote homogous I like this word. It could be used to designate a humungous homo. If only we had one of those! 4
DefQon Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Open the drivers and see if there is gold inside. 1
wink Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) As long as the humongous amount of UV deterioration is homogeneous, who really cares...? Edited January 23, 2016 by wink Shppellingkkk az yousuel
Stex Posted January 23, 2016 Author Report Posted January 23, 2016 Sorry for my bad english... The stators look gold
mypasswordis Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Buy a SR-5NBlack and compare (the sound is obviously different to SR-5). This Stax looks more yellow than gold, too; you could try comparing to cheeseburger-flavoured Stax, Stex. While listening to Styx at Stix. Edited January 23, 2016 by mypasswordis 2

Only the plates look a bit goldish on my model but only compared to the holding poles
mypasswordis Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Pretty sure this is a troll thread, but here it is anyway:
mypasswordis Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 Hey, Steve! Hope you've been well. It's fun to talk about Stax, but I miss my K1000 often. 2
Stex Posted January 24, 2016 Author Report Posted January 24, 2016 Hmm. It didn't help me too much, but these colors look pretty much the same
