dcpoor Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) The VIVO XE800 is suppose to be oem'ed by Vsonic with GR07 drivers, they seem to be a bit bass light though. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/100-Original-VIVO-XE800-High-definition-moveable-Hifi-Sound-system-in-ear-earphone-with-mic-Voice/318282_32704376144.html Oh, takes a few weeks to get them from that seller unfortunately. Sechtdamon Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) Noone mentioned them but if he/she can go up to 120 Dollars, i recommend rockit sounds r-50. They were pretty good for their prices back then, and still they are for me. Add 5 dollars for mic. There are so many good rewievs about r-50 too, if you want to check. And hifiman r-00 on massdrop for 35 dollars if i remember the price correctly. They are pretty good too. Edited October 20, 2016 by Sechtdamon Adding an option

Thanks! I think I can find them elsewhere like ebay for a few more dollars. I even found one that was 3 dollars hehe, not sure how much I trust them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/151752305190?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true I used these Panasonic for awhile and they do sound good, especially for < $10 but they don't have a mic. Sadly I didn't find a version with mic. Crazy that there are 37,000 reviews! https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Headphones-RP-HJE120-K-Ergonomic-Comfort-Fit/dp/B003EM8008/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476974058&sr=8-1&keywords=panasonic+earbud 1

Ordered another pair as a spare, hopefully they're authentic.
CarlSeibert Posted October 21, 2016 Report Posted October 21, 2016 I carry a pair of Focal Sphears in an etymonic zip up case for that sort of thing. They actually sound pretty effing good for the price. (A mere six times your budget ) this is head-case after all. (Be warned, the Sphears take a LONG time to break in. Way worse than Etys. ) 3
mypasswordis Posted October 22, 2016 Report Posted October 22, 2016 Hm, yeah I would consider getting something better but there just isn't any room to carry a zip case in my pockets, unless I wear a jacket (which is fine for half the year) or carry a murse. I repaired a friend's ER6i that had a frayed cord right near the plug, and decided it's just not worth doing repeatedly. That was an easier repair, too, because it was easy to tell where the break was, and being right near the plug means I just had to cut it off and solder in a new plug. I have my own ER6i but honestly it sounds worse than the Panasonic and the triple flange is a PITA. Guys who ordered the XE800, please report back if they are authentic! They most likely are fake, but maybe they sound as good as the originals.

It's been a few weeks so I've received mine, the 18 dollar ones that people on HF seemed to verify were legit. Haven't tried the mic yet but the sound is fine, so thanks a bunch! bit of a low treble peak combined with a somewhat rolled off top end isn't a great combo, but everything else is more or less fine. Maybe different tips will help, and I haven't experimented with moving the nozzles around yet either. Overall sound quality is probably on par with my $8 panasonics.
