aardvark baguette Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 If you don't sell, you've lost no money. All my watch purchases sure look good for 2015, though, as investments!all my investments are in gyros, the greek sandwich. 3 Quote
Sherwood Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 I have a feeling the U.S. is about to get flooded with Greek demand for gyros, sammich. Sell high! 1 Quote

HeadphoneAddict Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) One of the smarter things we did during the huge crash in 2008 was to continue paying into our 401(k), because everything we bought that summer is worth almost three times more now. And, we didn't sell off any investments after the crash, so when the market recovered our money had doubled between 2008 and 2012 when we did sell to help pay for our first kid in college. It still only brought us close to the 2007 value before the crash. It sucked to not earn anything between 2007 and 2012, but at least we didn't lose and actually had about $3K in capital gains from the time we started the fund in 2002 until we sold in 2012. ( we started at zero in 2002 and sold at $28,000 in 2012 ) Edited August 27, 2015 by HeadphoneAddict Quote
