Hopstretch Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Desktop experience very iffy due to the anvil of iTunes integration but mobile looks pretty good. Sound quality not so great to my ear?
blessingx Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Haven't had time to upgrade laptop, but thankfully on mobile (which I use 90%+ anyway) "For You" keeps most of advantages of Beats UI. Certainly has a kitchen sink feel at this point. Seems to be adjusting quickly to previous plays. Catalog appears deeper than Tidal (though that's likely the case for all other services). Bitrate is supposedly 256 AAC on wifi streaming/download and some unknown output on streaming "cellular." Haven't done any dedicated listening on quality front yet.
Grand Enigma Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Quality didn't sound great to me in my limited listening. Granted it was with a set of noise canceling Bose IEMs.
Hopstretch Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 Whatever I "like" it keeps recommending me more Jesus and Mary Chain, so it's got that going for it! 5
aardvark baguette Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Is there a lossless download option? All I care about is that Fragile instrumental NIN album someone mentioned.
en480c4 Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 All I care about is that Fragile instrumental NIN album someone mentioned. It's amazing. That is all. 1
Dreadhead Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 I hope that they release in the wild some time soon
Hopstretch Posted July 23, 2015 Author Report Posted July 23, 2015 OK, that is not good at all. http://www.loopinsight.com/2015/07/22/apple-music-is-a-nightmare-and-im-done-with-it/
aardvark baguette Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 i wouldnt even notice 4,700 missing songs 1
Hopstretch Posted August 5, 2015 Author Report Posted August 5, 2015 Generally happy. Have cancelled Qobuz and Spotify, keeping TIDAL for the desktop. Some over-curation going on, one playlist I came across this evening: "Third-Wave Ska Songs About Food." 1
Sherwood Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 Featuring! - Skankin' Pickle - Mustard Plug - Bowling for Soup - Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Squirrel Nut Zippers - Reel Big Fish - Rancid - The Toasters - Fishbone - Mephiskapheles That's all I've got, and frankly "Cherry Poppin' Daddies" was a stretch (eyyyyyyyy). 1
ironbut Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 When asked how they got the name of the band,.. "A lady asks me,.. is that a whale in yo pants?" I answer "Ain't nothin but a little Fishbone."

Grahame Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Virtually no one is using Apple Music even though it is utterly free"Maybe -- MAYBE -- Apple Music just fucking sucks and millennials (and their darned digital literacy) can smell it a mile off.— Cariad Eccleston (@cariadeccleston) August 6, 2015"http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/08/06/two_months_to_cancel_apple_music_subscriptions/
Hopstretch Posted August 7, 2015 Author Report Posted August 7, 2015 I wouldn't read a Reg article if they threw in a blowjob and a free watch service. 1
Sherwood Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 I'm not sure if you meant someone servicing your wristwatch while someone else (hopefully?) services your person, or if one was slobbing your knob and the other was watching pro bono.Either way, I also think ill of their publication.
Grahame Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) Sarcastic clickbait, what's not to love?Edit: Don't forget the provocative, hot-button pushing opinions designed to ignite a comment-storm.Where else would you find the story behind the story http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/31/cat_ate_my_bacon_man_says_in_999_call_i_want_to_press_charges/ Edited August 7, 2015 by Grahame
shellylh Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 Decided to try Apple Music. Was very happy that they have The Social Network soundtrack!
Hopstretch Posted October 26, 2015 Author Report Posted October 26, 2015 Current top recommended playlist for me is: The Musical Dialogue of Gilmore Girls.Probably need to listen to more metal. 2
n_maher Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 You, sir, are seriously lucky you already have a custom title. 2

ironbut Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) That Vellum article's been making the rounds. Here's the counter article; http://www.imore.com/no-apple-music-not-deleting-tracks-your-hard-drive-unless-you-tell-it Edited May 6, 2016 by ironbut
Dusty Chalk Posted May 6, 2016 Report Posted May 6, 2016 I am not reassured by that article at all. They "suspect"? To me, it seems obvious that this was the first author's secondary Mac, the primary being the music server, the secondary being his DAW (digital audio workstation). Sounds like the second author didn't do his due diligence before publishing his article.
