Voltron Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I'll be going to 1-3 World Series games, Wayne, and that number will depend on the duration of the series and my ticket partner's game preference. Two times is the most likely number. Should be amazing regardless and I cannot imagine a sweep by either team. 2
TMoney Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 This morning I learned that I have to drive out with one of the partners at my firm from our office in Marin to go to 7PM city council meeting in the central valley. So much for watching game one on TV.  At least there should be plenty of time to listen to John Miller and co. call a good chunk of the game on KNBR on the ride out. It beats the hell out of listening to Joe Buck.
Wmcmanus Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) Yes, there is a blessing in disguise not having to listen to Joe Buck! Â Glad to hear that you'll be able to make at least one game, and maybe more, Al. Â Incredible experience, I'm sure. Edited October 21, 2014 by Wmcmanus
Voltron Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 Wow. Impressive first game for my Giants! Bumgarner is a machine. Good to see Strickland finish it off cleanly. Three more to go! 2
Wmcmanus Posted October 22, 2014 Author Report Posted October 22, 2014 Yup, nice start for the Giants. Â I don't think anyone expected the Royals to win 12 in a row in the post-season, but this would seem to bring them back down to reality a bit, especially getting beat handily at home.
TMoney Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 First blood has been drawn!  I got to hear the big first inning and Bum get out of the 2nd and 3rd with no one out jam right before I had to head in to the council chambers. By the time I got back in the car after our agenda item we were tacking on our 6th and 7th runs. It sounds like I caught the good parts of the game  I get the feeling if the Giants get game 2 this series might be over before it really gets started. **crosses fingers*** Lets see how things go tonight. MLB would like this to go the distance but I'll take a sweep, please.  Gotta love Panda. He is my favorite position player on the team for the joy he brings to the game and for how sneaky athletic he actually is at his size. In the post game interview Dave Flemming asked him what he thought of the noise level of the Royals fans before the game. His response? "Normal, pretty normal, nothing like our fans back in SF." Clearly a lie, but we love you anyways, Panda.
TMoney Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) While Strickland was coming in I was telling my Dad that every time Strickland either looks good or is a complete disaster.... Yup. Edited October 23, 2014 by TMoney
Wmcmanus Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 Well that evens the score! Â This is right where I expected the series to be at this point, but I'm thinking there will be a lot of nail biting finishes going forward. Â We shall see.
Voltron Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 That sucked but assures that I will see two games this weekend. 2
morphsci Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 That is so awesome! Good luck to the Giants!
Iron_Dreamer Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Come on Giants let's get some offense here!
TMoney Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Hard to win when Buster and Panda combine to do diddly squat.
Voltron Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Best of three series. I like having MadBum pitching the first one. 1
Wmcmanus Posted October 26, 2014 Author Report Posted October 26, 2014 Best of three series. I like having MadBum pitching the first one. Â Ya, exactly. Â Big win for the Giants tonight. Â They looked pretty serious, yet are still playing loose and relaxed baseball which is important too. Â It's been a great series so far, can't wait to see what happens next.
TMoney Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 That was intense. I felt like we were one hit away from the game turning in to a complete disaster. Going down 3-1 to those guys would not have been fun. Â Tomorrow's game is going to be insane. Have a great time, Al!
Iron_Dreamer Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Best of three series. I like having MadBum pitching the first one. Â Exactly! Â Am I nuts for wishing that they'd start Petit in one of the other two?
Wmcmanus Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 Big win for the Giants, tonight. Â Puts them in the driver's seat, but don't count those pesky Royals out just yet!
TMoney Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 That was fun. These final scores are a bit deceiving as most of these games have been close up until the end. Â I have NO IDEA at all who Bochy pitches in 6, let alone 7. I hope I don't have to find out.
Wmcmanus Posted October 27, 2014 Author Report Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) Game 6 will be Matt Cain, almost for sure. Â Game 7 is another matter, but I'd imagine whoever the starter might be, he'll be on a short leash and we might see an army of pitchers by either or both teams, if need be. Edited October 27, 2014 by Wmcmanus
Voltron Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Do you mean Jake Peavy or Tim Hudson? Matt Cain had surgery and is out, but I wish he were available. We may see Bumgarner in relief if there is a game 7...
