Dusty Chalk Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Correct. I don't know what I was thinking.
wink Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Any one of these may fill the bill, but I'd recommend something a little more upmarket.. http://www.higherfi.com/spkrlist/speakerlist.php Edited September 6, 2014 by wink
skullguise Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Just found an amp to use......it can drive the Fifth Element speakers I'm sure..... 1
metalfan247 Posted September 6, 2014 Author Report Posted September 6, 2014 So far, this is what I've found, but the quest has only begun since I now need to look for an equally good headphone amplifier. http://www.head-fi.org/t/634201/battle-of-the-flagships-58-headphones-compared-update-audeze-lcd-2-revision-2-6-4-13#user_EPILOGUE http://www.head-fi.org/t/715478/headphones-for-metal-music-ultimate-solution http://www.themasterswitch.com/best-headphone-amps-2014 (Grace m903 reference amp)

Why not discuss it there? The Grace m903 is an excellent choice, by the way. And unholy carp, that chart! There's no way we would ever attempt anything like that, I don't think we have enough data points, much less active members willing to participate.
DefQon Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) And something to make and enjoy while listening to metal on your new cans and speakers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTUfr-if3V0 Edited September 7, 2014 by DefQon 1
Dusty Chalk Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Test track : Ali I could actually follow that.

Just fyi. 1

Sherwood Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Been awhile since I last saw Mahler's big flagship review. Seems pretty on-point as far as my listening preferences go. I also like that he owns all these simultaneously, and that he has proper amps (more or less). OP, just read through that chart, and choose the best one you can afford. Problem solved.
DefQon Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Well it seems he is selling his stuff off. http://www.head-fi.org/t/711341/flagship-gear-sale-selling-most-of-my-stuff#post_10385819
Wmcmanus Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 You would probably get better responses if you provided a more detailed list of the kind of musicerable shit that you listen to.

Yeah, his review is damn impressive and pretty spot on. Spamming this link and your "choose the best one you can afford" advice seems like a good default HC response to these types of inane posts.
CarlSeibert Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Tyll, that's pretty sick. I want one. Next time the neighbor annoys me with show tunes................
roadtonowhere08 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Holy hell, that write up from DavidMahler must have taken forever to write. Unbelievable.
DefQon Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Holy hell, that write up from DavidMahler must have taken forever to write. Unbelievable. Even crazier that he only bought some of those head gear to help contribute the massive review write up he made.
metalfan247 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Coming here to ask a question, then answering it yourself by posting links to another headphone forum is a shitty start. Just fyi. Most of the posts in my thread here haven't exactly been serious posts that are in any way informative. More trolling than anything. Therefore relying on that as an answer is completely useless and so I decided to keep looking at the same time. Notice I didn't answer my own questions yet, I've merely narrowed down the search somewhat.
nikongod Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 He thinks we are customer service people. We should keep him around. There is no way to be that wrong without doing some sort of performance art project.

I can't recommend headphones for you without a few hundred more examples of the albums through which you listen to your gear.
