CarlSeibert Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 This is priceless...... Three billion, you say? http://www.cnet.com/news/bose-accuses-beats-of-infringing-noise-canceling-headphone-patents/ 1
Dusty Chalk Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Not sure who to root for...or against...
Hopstretch Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 A pox on both their houses. Let's just hope Monster finds a way to intervene.
CarlSeibert Posted July 28, 2014 Author Report Posted July 28, 2014 Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of guys. Maybe Bose will hire good lawyers who will spend the money wisely on strong drink and such 1
skullguise Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 If they actually go ahead in court, is that like two black holes coming together? Should we be worried about the future of Earth? Maybe a new catch phrase could be something like: Who would Al defend? 1
skullguise Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Can you patent sucking? This is America....fuck yeah!
Hopstretch Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Can you patent sucking? No, because the patent process itself would be prior art. 3
nikongod Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Yes you can I was expecting it to be a patent for "a rectangle with rounded corners"
CarlSeibert Posted July 30, 2014 Author Report Posted July 30, 2014 I saw one of those in use once. Yuk.
n_maher Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 I can't think of two corporate entities that I'd rather see locked up in a battle of who can sue for more.

Exactly, but Stretch makes a valid observation which would make for a Trifecta of poseurs calling other poseurs, poseurs. Kind of makes your head spin. 1
blessingx Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 I can't think of two corporate entities that I'd rather see locked up in a battle of who can sue for more.Oh, that's a fun mental exercise.Clear Channel v. Ticketmaster? 1
Grahame Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Comcast vs TWC (based on (lack of) customer satisfaction) http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/05/comcast-time-warner-cable-still-have-the-angriest-customers-survey-finds/ 1
Dusty Chalk Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 Oh, that's a fun mental exercise. See also: other 'sucking' patents. You're on your own Googling them, however, I'm at work.
n_maher Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Verizon vs. AT&T would be high on my list as well.
Hopstretch Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 http://www.macrumors.com/2014/10/10/apple-bose-removal/ Kinda buries the lede. 1
CarlSeibert Posted October 15, 2014 Author Report Posted October 15, 2014 This is just perfect: Bose also has a new sponsorship deal with the National Football League that has seen the league prohibit players from wearing Beats headphones while in the presence of television cameras at practice and on game days. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick defied the ban by wearing bright pink Beats headphones at a postgame press conference last Sunday, a move that saw the league hit Kaepernick with a $10,000 fine.
blessingx Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 And somehow the NFL isn't the group hated.
HeadphoneAddict Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) This is just perfect: Bose also has a new sponsorship deal with the National Football League that has seen the league prohibit players from wearing Beats headphones while in the presence of television cameras at practice and on game days. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick defied the ban by wearing bright pink Beats headphones at a postgame press conference last Sunday, a move that saw the league hit Kaepernick with a $10,000 fine. I read that he wore the pink Beats to support breast cancer, and now instead of being able to give $10K to breast cancer charities it goes to the NFL. Nice. morphsci Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 And somehow the NFL isn't the group hated. I hate the NFL as an organization almost as much as I hate MLB.
raffy Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 Roger Goddell is the biggest hypocrite in sports.
