Sherwood Posted October 30, 2020 Report Posted October 30, 2020 Wu Fei & Abigail Washburn I don't know how this escaped my notice in February, but I'm a sucker for Chinese stringed instruments in old time bands.
mikeymad Posted November 5, 2020 Report Posted November 5, 2020 Ā Just in case you need a Rush overture for your day..Ā intro to Spirit of Radio.Ā Ā (RIPĀ Neil) 3
Hopstretch Posted November 17, 2020 Author Report Posted November 17, 2020 Was listening to this tonight and it occurred to me to hope another actual civil war will not be necessary. Ā 1
Hopstretch Posted November 25, 2020 Author Report Posted November 25, 2020 This has pretty much everything I'm looking for. Ā 2 1 1
Dusty Chalk Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 I can't stop listening to this stream, especially the song "Shu!", which starts around 13:56 and goes for about 8 minutes.Ā But the whole thing is laid back sublime dancey grooviness. Ā 1
Dusty Chalk Posted December 4, 2020 Report Posted December 4, 2020 Unholy carp!Ā 1/2 hour of some great lap steel playing: Ā
HiWire Posted December 9, 2020 Report Posted December 9, 2020 Driver's Seat ā Sniff 'n' the Tears Ā 1
Hopstretch Posted December 15, 2020 Author Report Posted December 15, 2020 It's hard to imagine who went: "What this extended edition really needs is a bunch of solo clarinet!" But God bless him (would definitely have been a him in the '80s). Ā 2 1
swt61 Posted December 15, 2020 Report Posted December 15, 2020 Can you really call it an intro if it takes up an entire side of an album?Ā I've not heard this extended mix, but I've been a huge fan of Soft Cell since the early 80's. My Father hated it when I'd play 'Sex Dwarf' at a high volume. I had a dance completely coriographed to 'Tainted Love'. Hmmm, I just realized that maybe IĀ wasn't as straight appearing as I thought I was. 4
Torpedo Posted December 24, 2020 Report Posted December 24, 2020 It's not exactly "a song" but it's something you might enjoy. Good for a whole Xmas eve dinner Ā 1
blessingx Posted December 25, 2020 Report Posted December 25, 2020 Another year where this is my favorite modern holiday song.Ā Ā 1
HiWire Posted January 9, 2021 Report Posted January 9, 2021 Sometimes music pops into my head for no reason ā I credit Girl Talk for singlehandedly informing most of my 80s (and 90s-early 2000s hip-hop) pop-listening habits in the last decade: Ā 1
Hopstretch Posted January 14, 2021 Author Report Posted January 14, 2021 One of my favorite songs and I really like the cover. Ā 6
Dusty Chalk Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 Thanks for posting that. Ā Iām a huge Fiona Apple fan, but for some reason hadnāt heard it. Ā Whatās amazing about it is that she doesnāt lose the Waterboys-ness of it, while at the same time making it recognizably her. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted January 16, 2021 Report Posted January 16, 2021 I'm really enjoying the singles coming out ahead of Anneke's upcoming album, in aĀ I-want-to-cover-themĀ kind of way: Ā
blessingx Posted January 18, 2021 Report Posted January 18, 2021 Another long lost 2001 track. I canāt believe Kubrick choose not toĀ use. Ā Ā 1
