We run the output from the dishwasher into our sink disposal.

 

Yeah, our does as well, and I am sure that does present options, but with my dish load, the thought of cleaning one more filter frequently was enough for me to focus on ones with a disposer.

 

On a related note, could a dishwasher with just a filter be used without a filter as long as the food particles are dime sized or smaller?  Something tells me the pump would not like that.

I have the high end kitchenaid which worked great for 1 year, then one of the hose clamps broke

and it dumped water all over the floor. At least the fix was quick and it has worked perfect ever

since. Ultra quiet, and ultra low power, different kind of heating element to dry the dishes and

a special motor that grinds the food into dust. Takes about 2 hours to wash dishes. Filled with

electronic stuff. Probably would not buy it again, kind of expensive at about $1400... but

as long as it continues to work...
