blessingx Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) Figure there are enough of these to start their own thread. Anyone brave enough on this one? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hellobragi/the-dash-wireless-smart-in-ear-headphones Edited February 28, 2014 by blessingx
Voltron Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 $2.4 million already? What could they possibly need more cash to accomplish?
crappyjones123 Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) In tech news today, a kick starter campaign for wireless headphones turned out to be a front for a company named light harmonic who needed more money to provide more options for their dac... Dusty Chalk Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 $2.4 million already? What could they possibly need more cash to accomplish? They didn't limit the number of headphones, so it all goes into moar headphones. This is the only one on my radar right now (I chickened out on missed several recently): Unwoman's newest release, Circling
nikongod Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Not exactly kickstarter, but I just recently found a (hopefully) great site for group buys on things that seem relevant to us: https://www.massdrop.com/
Cankin Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 According to this, they might have K812 up soon "AKG K712: This is 100% viable and we'll be glad to launch it... as soon as it's back in stock. Right now there isn't enough stock to make for a meaningful Massdrop and as such we're going to have to wait until the next batch comes in (shouldn't be too long). AKG K612: Highly viable. There's stock available and the price is consistent and close to MSRP which means that we can offer a meaningful price drop. Alright, and now for the AKG K812. For some quick background information, the K812 is AKG's newest $1500 MSRP reference headphone, and the first headphone AKG has produced in this price range since the legendary K1000. As of now, we've got 15 units of the K812 reserved with AKG . We'll launch the buy as soon as we receive final confirmation form AKG. Massdrop is, for a long time, going to be the only place AKG is willing to offer the K812 below their $1500 MSRP because of the privacy and niche enthusiasm of our community. Pat yourselves on the back. Through your polls, votes, and purchases you've been able to impress the top execs at AKG and now they're willing to work with you."
Aimless1 Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Not exactly kickstarter, but I just recently found a (hopefully) great site for group buys on things that seem relevant to us: https://www.massdrop.com/ I had just joined mass drop yesterday. They seem to have some nice deals ... audio and otherwise.
Cankin Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 K812 for $1,199 on Massdrop, only 15 units.
blubliss Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 I've used Massdrop, it's a good site.
n_maher Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Still not worth it. That's pretty much what I was thinking after your review.
skullguise Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Agreed with the above, wouldn't bother with the 812. And yeah, Massdrop is pretty cool, got some A-T W1000x's there for $399. Another semi-stupid whim purchase, though the phones are easy enough to drive and fairly musical if not accurate. They seem to sell a lot of vaporizers at Massdrop as well
blessingx Posted March 8, 2014 Author Report Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) Axis360 (motorized tripod head and slider for dynamic video and timelapse photography) is kinda cool.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jj1/axis360-modular-motion-control-for-cameras Review: http://m.dpreview.com/articles/2808047513/cinetics-axis360-review Edited March 8, 2014 by blessingx
Torpedo Posted March 8, 2014 Report Posted March 8, 2014 That'd be excellent if it included some App to control it from your smart phone, and had some gadget to let you see and possibly control what's being shot.
blessingx Posted March 10, 2014 Author Report Posted March 10, 2014 Long lost Pono is finally coming (on Kickstarter). http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/09/ponoplayer/?ncid=rss_truncated
HeadphoneAddict Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 Long lost Pono is finally coming (on Kickstarter). http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/09/ponoplayer/?ncid=rss_truncated I read (in bold): The hardware will offer natural-sounding digital filtering from Ayre Acoustics, ESS' most advanced digital-to-analog converter and "perfectly flat" frequency response with most any set of headphones. So, it's got an EQ?
blessingx Posted March 10, 2014 Author Report Posted March 10, 2014 Yeah, I was confused by that statement too.
Nebby Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) oops, wrong thread. Edited March 10, 2014 by Nebby
Dusty Chalk Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 Well, they put "perfectly flat" in quotes, so...
