swt61 Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 This is actually pretty good. The premise is that a wiseguy turns informant, then goes into protective custody, where he picks Lillihammer as his new home, because he thought it was beautiful on TV, during the 94' Olympics. Steven Van Zandt stars and is one of the executive producers. Quote
postjack Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Friend of mine is always going on about this. I love Steven and will eventually get around to watching it. Glad to hear another positive review. Quote
ironbut Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Yup. Pretty addicting. I really enjoyed the first season but haven't gotten around to watch the new ones. Quote
Riotvan Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Yeah decent show. Let's see if they can improve it further in the second season. Quote
shellylh Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I fell asleep watching episode 1 but I may give it another chance. Quote
CherryBomb Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I am having a hard time with Season 2. In season 1 the show was captioned so that you knew what they were saying when they spoke Norwegian, but the captions were not on for the English speakers. In Season 2 it comes default with no captioning, so, now I have to go into my Roku player and turn on captions. Doing it this way means that I have to have captions for English and Norwegian speakers, which is distracting and annoying. It is a nit, but it is keeping me watching the show as frequently as I did for Season 1. Quote
swt61 Posted January 4, 2014 Author Report Posted January 4, 2014 I'm watching season 2, and the captioning is there for the Norwegian? Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) I just quickly checked and the caption is on for Norwegian but not for English - on both Netflix app on my iPhone and on Apple TV. Edited January 4, 2014 by Salt Peanuts Quote
CherryBomb Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 I'm not seeing the captioning on my Roku 2. Haven't checked the Roku 3. Quote
CherryBomb Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Mystery solved. It works on the Roku 3 in my bedroom but not the Roku 2 in the living room. Roku seems to want everyone to switch to the Roku 3. Quote
