humanflyz Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Of course I would never want to be caught in a situation where I would have to be forced to choose between the GS1000 and the RS-1; gimme a HP2 instead.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 (jumps on the "I hate GS1000" "GS1000 is not neutral" bandwagon) To me, the frequency response isn't as simple as bimodal -- it hits me as a freakin' roller coaster ride. Blech.
granodemostasa Posted May 8, 2007 Author Report Posted May 8, 2007 You guys were describing the frequency response. Of course that's not a flat "neutral" response! To me, "neutral" has to do with the nature of the tone (per note) coming from the can and how much it's sound reflects the components behind it. For example: the HD650 definitely adds it's own sonic sig onto every insturment, the OII has the least sonic-sig of any can I've ever encountered. I tried to keep my description of this outside of the frequency response problems.
granodemostasa Posted May 8, 2007 Author Report Posted May 8, 2007 against all the odds in the world I tried making a move on the HE60 (forget the qualia and GS1000). I remembered this thing from the meet and neil's system... and i think (wow, my entire audio experience may change, the ZD would be gone, the HD650, nothing would ever be the same again). So yea... a GS1000 is ok, but for 1K that HE60 deal is insane!

To me it counts as an instrument, and the GS1000s don't do it for me there.

humanflyz Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Neil is only asking $1000 for his HE60? He's asking the interested parties why they want the HE60, and he will choose who to sell it to at the end, for $1000
deepak Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 He's asking the interested parties why they want the HE60, and he will choose who to sell it to at the end, for $1000 Nice, hope it goes to someone that really wants it.
saint.panda Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 GS1000 were amazing on first listen, very pratty and involving like all Grados and with more soundstage, but with time, they just couldn't hold up, and certainly not for the price asked. More like a rollercoaster ride and nice for a secondary phone if somebody can afford it.
