Sherwood Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Looks smexy. I like the less-goofy style of the horn there as compared to the fly.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Yeah, it's more subdued on that one than usual, probably due to the custom aspect. To others: for reference -- it usually has this really exaggerated cutout that makes the top look like a dangling chad: EDIT: sorry, that was a horrible example, it's usually much more exaggerated:
VPI Posted June 3, 2014 Author Report Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) I always picture Dusty living in a purple house with purple furniture drinking grape kool-aid when he posts all the purple stuff he is buying. Have not gotten a guitar in a while so I am having a paulownia wood telecaster built with a combo set of Kinman 50s and 60s noiseless pick-ups and a fishman VT power bridge. The original intent was to match my strat but I am leaning towards an excellent cherry burst at the moment. Edited June 3, 2014 by VPI 1
Dusty Chalk Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Parkers -- used Fly Deluxe in the $1000-1500 range, or new PDF in the $500-$1000 range? I have a chance at the former, but would still like to hear opinions.
VPI Posted August 2, 2014 Author Report Posted August 2, 2014 Picked up the new Telecaster with 68 Kinman noiseless pickups. 1
VPI Posted August 2, 2014 Author Report Posted August 2, 2014 Even took a Brent approved vertical video of Aaron playing it. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qf2zqimlLBI
MexicanDragon Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Even took a Brent approved vertical video of Aaron playing it.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qf2zqimlLBI You're a horrible person. **BRENT**
VPI Posted August 4, 2014 Author Report Posted August 4, 2014 I know you hate it when there are those annoying black bars on the top and bottom so I filmed it the right way just for you. The guitar is awesome and I am glad the lightweight Paulownia did not work out as the Adler has about the perfect amount of heft for me and sounds fantastic on everything I have plugged it in to. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Did you say you were thinking of getting a Les Paul next? zZounds just sent me an email about extremely limited runs of certain Gibson models, and this one is just beautious: There's a couple others.
Dusty Chalk Posted August 8, 2014 Report Posted August 8, 2014 Ah found mah purple guitar: Aye keed, aye keed...
Dusty Chalk Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Picked up the new Telecaster with 68 Kinman noiseless pickups. I got to hear this today -- I must say, beautiful sounding machine through the ... what was that, one of the VVT Nighthawks? Also: Aaron was right, it was the Pedaltrain Volto I was talking about, not the MXR DC Brick. Also also: Parker has a color called, 'Dusty Black', I really owe it to myself to buy one in a color named after me.
VPI Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 Went to set up my pedal board and decided the little Nano was a bit small with my current pedals as the power supply could not be mounted beneath the plate. Went out and got the Pedaltrain Jr. instead. Finally got to use my first pedal I bought a couple of months ago and found it to be very good. 2
VPI Posted September 1, 2014 Author Report Posted September 1, 2014 Trying to figure out how to finish off the pedal board. I am thinking at least a PolyTune 2, a ProCo Rat2 and a Strymon Mobius. Any others I should be looking at?
Grahame Posted September 1, 2014 Report Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Jim Dunlop CryBaby Wah Wah (Bow-Chicka-wow-wow) Edited September 1, 2014 by Grahame
Dusty Chalk Posted September 1, 2014 Report Posted September 1, 2014 Way Huge Echo-Puss, Aqua-Puss, or Supa-Puss? You don't want a Swollen Pickle, that's not your thing Strymon Blue Sky or Big Sky (reverbs)? Phaser? Chorus?
VPI Posted September 1, 2014 Author Report Posted September 1, 2014 Colin, if I was looking to make the noise of a poorly maintained chainsaw, I would probably just buy a poorly maintained chainsaw on Craigslist. Do any of you guys use volume control pedals?
Dusty Chalk Posted September 3, 2014 Report Posted September 3, 2014 Nope, and it's not because I can do that thing that Aaron did with the heel of his hand on the knob that's right there by his strumming hand, it's because I haven't worked up to it that good yet. I keep my volume just plain down for now. My next pedal: Futanari pedal
VPI Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) Picked up an Xotix SL Drive and little TC tuner and a bunch of cables and solderless plugs for the pedal board from Action Music. Edited September 4, 2014 by VPI
