No, we don't mind you posting, just don't post horseshit.  And certainly don't regurgitate others' opinions, reviews, and (mostly) horseshit -- come up with your own opinions, and descriptive terms.  And don't fall for snake oil, yourself.

And play with positioning and with ampage -- IIRC, AKG's weren't that sensitive to the amps that drove them (although they did scale a little), but the home (non-pro-orientated ones) were pretty sensitive to positioning on the head.

And here's the issue, to some degree.  Everyone here has owned (or at least heard) every notable thing AKG has ever made.  K1000, K340, K240, K701, etc.  I even have a K81DJ, which was first heralded as "the closed Grado".  We know the lineup, and for the most part don't care about anything but the 340/240 and the K1000, all of which are out of production.

There's nothing wrong with your journey through headphones, we all made one more or less in public, but this is a tough place to grow up.  If you want to stay, be warned that anything related to your "kopfhörersroman" (You are welcome, Dusty) will be met with some skepticism.

Also, the notion of burn in is total bullshit.

Well encapsulated and/or synopsized.

^in summation... tone it down, titty boy. Ain't nobody got time for your riff-raff.

I heard that in Holder's voice.

^That there is the problem.  You probably need 2000 days of burn in...

You know?  Funnily phrased, and yet...truth.

Pay attention to these people, they are wise.  Spend more time listening, less time waxing poetic.  There's no rush, you're young.

This is not head-fi.  THIS IS SPARTA.

Also, not Athens.

True Dat.

I actually still have some AKG K240M 600 ohm, and preferred them to my K1000 since they're easier to drive and sound wonderful with my ZDT amp.

The eBay seller I got them from bought an unclaimed storage unit that he said belonged to Stevie Wonder's ex-wife, including tape decks and receivers with brail labels on them, and these headphones were in that lot of gear. They smelled like hair gel, so does that prove Stevie Wonder used these?

I guess people were focused on titty boy's idiocy, but he is utterly eclipsed by this f*cktard's racist comment. Too bad the ignore feature doesn't work on Tapatalk or I wouldn't have even had to see it. Fuck off Larry.

Oh boy, Larry.  You stepped in it now.  The touchy subject about equating black people and hair products is a pretty old one.  Here is a bit of advice:  if Dave Chappelle made a sketch about in in his show years ago, you probably should proceed with caution  O0

What I posted actually did have a basis in reality - they smelled very strongly of hair gel, and in my chats with the eBay seller he used that fact as partial proof or provenance of who the previous owner was. He could give me no other evidence other than photos of all the braille labels on the rest of the audio gear.

When I recalled those chats as I made my post about the K240M, I thought it was slightly funny but I admit I shared it the wrong way.  I should have just told my story surrounding the purchase and the seller's claims -  if I posted in bad taste then I understand being called out for that, and I am sorry, but calling me racist?

I've used hair gel too, so am I a racist against myself as well?  Sorry, but there ISN'T A RACIST BONE IN MY BODY.  You can try to judge me all you want, but you don't know me or what's in my heart.  But now that you've shamed me into submission and made me feel bad, do you feel better?

When I sell any of the gear that I currently have in the "for sale forum" I am going to give 15% of the funds collected to Todd to give to his charity of choice, including the NAACP or any LGBT organization. Todd can take the tax write-off so I won't benefit from it.

If you read my post, I did not call you a racist.  I called you a fucktard and said you made a racist comment.  How the fuck does "smelling like hair gel" equal "owned by Stevie Wonder"?  What else is that based on other than prejudicial and race-based stereotypes?  Do you know Stevie and recognize the smell of his hair gel?  Did you think twice before using the term "hair grease" or "Jheri Curl" and go with "hair gel" instead so you wouldn't sound racist?

Since posting -- and before your belated and misguided response -- I thought about whether my snap judgment was justified.  Everyone I have asked agrees that your hair gel smell remark was racist, as did some very level-headed members of this forum.  I even Googled it and found some choice individuals posting similar comments and questions.  Here are some examples:

Is it normal that I feel sick when I smell that 'black people' smell?  Okay, so first off I'm not racist, at all.  For some reason most (not all) black people have a smell. It's not a bad smell like BO, but it's not easy to ignore because it's strong. I think it comes from the hair. I've smelled it on both sexes and it makes me sick just from the strength. The same thing happens with some perfumes, but that black guy/gal smell is particularly strong and offensive to my nose. I can get dizzy and occasionally I'll throw up. Does anybody know what this is, or have the same reaction?  http://isitnormal.com/story/is-it-normal-that-i-feel-sick-when-i-smell-that-black-people-smell-121952/

Why do black women have a distinct odor?  This is a serious question not meant to be taken as a racist one. A lot of black women have a distinct odor coming from what I think is their hair. Is there a particular product that they use in their hair that gives off that smell?? https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060813021811AABkYMx

Those idiots were called out for making racist comments too, even though they all say they're not being racist.  Maybe I should have called you ignorant and racist because you don't realize what you're saying is, in fact, racist.

And are you related to Donald Sterling?  He made donations to the NAACP after past racist comments and recently visited a predominantly African American church to show how not racist he is.  The NAACP has now returned his donations, and I don't think they want your guilt payment any more than his.  I'm not sure how the LGBT organizations fit into this equation in your mind, but it only drives home how twisted you are.  And why the hell is Todd supposed to make a charitable donation for you?

You suggest that you feel bad and are shamed into submission.  That's a good one.  Since my post, you have pumped your for sale ad in the Casino, you have created a for sale thread in the Audio Gear for Sale forum, you have PM'd Tyler directly to hawk your O2s, and you have posted in the Stax thread hoping to prevent Tyler and others from buying 007As instead of your shit.  That's quite some submission.

Once again.  Fuck off Larry.

Almost every time I hear "I'm not racist but..." I brace for the worst. What really gets me is that these people that spew this racist verbal garbage, usually think that if there is no one around of the race or group they're disparaging, then they're not offending anyone. I'm offended, and I'm guessing that most intelligent people are also equally offended.

And you didn't read my post as it was intended by me, but rather you will always see me through your rose colored glasses. I've already answered your questions. I don't even know why I respond, because you will just scour through my post and pick out something to misinterpret and use against me.

I also posted in the for sale forum before before I knew that the shit hit the fan here, because the people in the "other thread" told me that only a few people read that thread and that those who did read were not interested.  I picked here first because you guys are usually the best people to deal with when selling and buying.

And, Tyler and I hung out several times over the years when he lived in Colorado, and we've shared gear and bought and sold with each other before (I still have the turntable he sold me), so it's nothing new to talk about those things with him.

I dunno, I think we're all being a little hard on HPA. I'm sure he can distinguish Stevie Wonder's black people gel from his own white people gel, because black people have a certain black people smell to them, Stevie in particular.

BTW, I have a pair of old 1970's vintage phones that I bought off eBay for $1,000 that was worn by the infamous murderer Jheri Curl on the night Cookie-Head got killed. I know it was his, because it smells strongly of jheri curl activator. And the negroes of that era wore a lot of activator. I can prove it here:

Also, I have a pair of headphones that Woody Allen wore on the set of Manhattan. I know it was his, because it smells like that stuff Jewish people wear to keep their yarmulkes on their heads.  It's pretty distinct, it's strong, and, having grown up in a Jewish neighborhood, and having a lot of Jewish friends (thus proving I'm not Anti-semitic), I know that odor anywhere. You may ask how I know it wasn't just any Jewish person, but I'm pretty sure there's a bit of black people smell, too, and Woody used to show up in New York jazz clubs to play jazz clarinet, and there are a lot of black people at jazz clubs. How many headphones smell of both Jewish AND black people? (*Disclaimer - the jazz shot captured here does not show actual black people in it. However, it is a fact that black people love jazz, so that's proof enough*)

And finally, the best vintage headphones in my collection. A pair that Bruce Lee wore on the set of Entering the Dragon, the best martial arts movie ever made. You may ask how I know that it's Bruce Lee's. Well, it smells like egg rolls. And, being Chinese, I KNOW the smell that Chinese people who have used that Chinese oil to fry egg rolls in. It's very distinct, I grew up with it in my house, and my whole damn family smells like it. I can smell a Chinese person walking towards me from a mile away. It's not BAD mind you, it's very familiar, and it reminds me of warm feelings, growing up in my happy, fuzzy Chinese household eating egg rolls all the time. My non-racist friends used to comment on my egg roll smell all the time. It never bothered me at all, it made me feel good, because when I cried, they would always say to quit being so sensitive, they're my friend, after all! We would then fight, them trying to hit me, and me dodging them in a variety of incredible kung fu moves, even though I never took kung fu lessons, and the words emanating from my mouth oddly not matching my mouth movements.
