blessingx Posted January 3, 2014 Author Report Posted January 3, 2014 Hope this doesn't cause an aneurysm for anyone here... http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/geek-pulse-a-digital-audio-awesomifier-for-your-desktop-2
Dusty Chalk Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 I don't get it. (Probably because I haven't been avidly following all the minute changes.) EDIT: Oh, it's a whole second campaign. Never mind.
Nebby Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Hope this doesn't cause an aneurysm for anyone here... http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/geek-pulse-a-digital-audio-awesomifier-for-your-desktop-2 What's interesting is the last update email I got essentially said "people asked us how to pay for extra shipping costs that they forgot to pay for, so we're doing a second campaign for that purpose", but this new campaign is essentially a duplicate campaign except "we're not going to be actively engaged during this campaign".
Hopstretch Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Maybe if you double fund it will sound twice as good?

Seems that way. You need to send them moar money. Now. Do it. They need it.

blessingx Posted January 3, 2014 Author Report Posted January 3, 2014 For those wondering, some of the prices remained the same and have some jumped. Fortunately, the USB cable held steady at $699.
Nebby Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 For those wondering, some of the prices remained the same and have some jumped. Fortunately, the USB cable held steady at $699. $699 for 0.8m, $979 for 1.6m, or $1,399 for 3.8m. MSRP starts at $999. What a bargain!
CarlSeibert Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 That got a ton of coverage in this month's Stereophile. Of course the lead time means it was all written before much happened. They sort of edged up to the real issues without really going there. Sort of props for that. It's more than most services magazines do.
Nebby Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) The good news about the 2nd campaign is that we still can earn freebies by sharing the campaign. It's the same rules with the 1st one. Source So the good news is that people can shill for them even more? How fantastic. Edited January 5, 2014 by Nebby
grawk Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 I've removed the shill and his posts, but left that response so that people can know the vendor is encouraging shilling, and factor that into any decisions made.
roadtonowhere08 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) The whole business model encourages shilling; it's disgusting. Justin, I do believe that it is a referral link. The share URL is "http://igg.me/at/geekpulseaudio2" and the "x/number" at the end is probably his account. Edited January 5, 2014 by roadtonowhere08
Nebby Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Removed the shill's referral link as well...didn't think of that, oops.
spritzer Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 We agree on that. It's perfect for HF though, crappy product shilled by idiots...
justin Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 i thought its a $50k DAC for a few hundred bucks with everything you could ever want and endorsed by the wall street journal?
morphsci Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Are you sure that endorsement was not by The Ball Street Journal? Yo! 1
RudeWolf Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 It looks good on the paper (provided they don't fuxxxor up the ES9018), but their discourse reeks of bullshit. Sure the DAC might sound great, but there are 5 others that do and don't take me for a sheep.
roadtonowhere08 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 They reached their first stretch goals, and it will be officially come with a nice audiophile grade usb cable. Linky:[removed] Does this link look familiar? Hmmm, alpha215 and this dipshit... same guy? Could the mods change this post so Mr. Two Accounts does not get any hits back to his IndieGoGo account?

justin Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Light Harmonic becomes ambitious and overwhelmed. They expand into new areas so quick. I both have good and bad feeling about this.Good marketing strategy though. China shill post.
roadtonowhere08 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Thanks, Nate. Not surprised in the slightest, Justin. He did not get very far in the Rig-Talk forum
