Hopstretch Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 I intend, before the endgame looms, to die sitting in a chair in my own garden with a glass of brandy in my hand and Thomas Tallis on the iPod. Oh, and since this is England, I had better add, 'If wet, in the library.' Who could say that this is bad? Who indeed?
cetoole Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) Ugh. As Grahame said, time to reread all the Discworld novels. Which are objectively the best novels ever. Edited March 13, 2015 by cetoole

skullguise Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 As a kid who loved the Gong Show and had a mean crush on JP Morgan, I laughed and loved a lot of that show. The Dancing Machine one big piece of it....RIP Gene.....
Wmcmanus Posted March 16, 2015 Author Report Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Dancing in heaven indeed. Sadly, he lost both legs to diabetes. Also, interesting that he was stage hand who was "discovered" dancing alone one day so they just made him part of the shtick. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/gong-show-gene-gene-dancing-machine-dies-82-article-1.2149430 Edited March 16, 2015 by Wmcmanus

Dusty Chalk Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Yeah, RIP. As much as that was an earworm, it never bothered me that much, plus, can't deny his talent.
Torpedo Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 RIP, Mike. Toto was one of my favourite groups in the 80s Today died Claudio Cifuentes, more known as "Cifu". He's been carrying on a radio show about jazz on a daily basis at the Spanish Public Radio for 42 years. He also had a jazz TV show for a few years in the late 70s to early 80s. Thanks to this man I learned quite a bit about jazz. An awesome guy, he even replied personally to an email I sent to him. I listened to one of his shows about three weeks ago. He'll be missed. RIP Cifu.

Dusty Chalk Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 And another: Free bassist Andy Fraser Man, it sucks to be in a time when so many rock stars drop like flies...I might have to go binge on some Free, I never paid them enough attention.
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 And another: Free bassist Andy Fraser Man, it sucks to be in a time when so many rock stars drop like flies...I might have to go binge on some Free, I never paid them enough attention. I was a pretty big Free fan. RIP Andy.
10-ekips Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 Attended the funeral for Bob Soto today, the man responsible for initiating the sport of recreational diving in the Caribbean.
