Fitz Posted November 9, 2020 Report Posted November 9, 2020 I have no idea what you're talking about, I'm a pure and innocent soul. 1

Voltron Posted November 19, 2020 Report Posted November 19, 2020 RIP Bobby Brown, Jr. Bobby Sr. has quite the legacy of drug related and early deaths: Whitney Houston dead at 48 Daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown dead at 22 Former ward and nearly son in law Nick Gordon dead at 30. Bobby Jr. dead at 28. No cause given yet but allegedly "no signs of foul play." I hope his remaining five children fare better. 2
blessingx Posted November 20, 2020 Report Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) RIP Jan Morris. You lead a fascinating life. “Her life story was crammed with romance, discovery and adventure. She was a soldier, an award-winning journalist, a novelist and - as a travel writer - became a poet of time and place. She was known also a pioneer in her personal life, as one of the first high-profile figures to change gender.” https://www.theguardian.com/books/2020/nov/20/jan-morris-historian-travel-writer-and-trans-pioneer-dies-aged-94?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/25/books/jan-morris-in-my-minds-eye.amp.html https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-26924906 Edited November 20, 2020 by blessingx 4
TMoney Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 RIP Maradona. One of the 20th century's most electric athletes. His highlights are as breathtaking today as they were back then. The goal of the century might also be the 20th century's best sports highlight. HBO's documentary on him from a year ago was great. https://www.hbo.com/documentaries/diego-maradona 7
Grahame Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 RIP Diego "The Hand of God" Maradona
skullguise Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 RIP Diego....thanks for the highlights, and still way too young!
morphsci Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 RIP Diego ... You were/are a champion. 2
Craig Sawyers Posted November 26, 2020 Report Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) I've just checked into this thread again - I can hardly type for laughing! OMG the thread moved on - that was in reply to Tice's comment on the last page on Nov 9th!! Back to the current posts. So sad that Maradonna has gone. Such a flawed genius in the same way that George Best was. Best drank himself to death, and Diego Maradonna had the same demons. Edited November 26, 2020 by Craig Sawyers
blessingx Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 RIP David Prowse https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/nov/29/darth-vader--dave-prowse-dies-aged-85?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Had the pleasure of interviewing him for my high school paper in ‘84 or 85. Said he wanted to be cast as James Bond in the future. 1 6
Grahame Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 RIP David Prowse. Before he was Darth, he was The Green Cross Code man. In the UK, in all it's 70's glory. And he was overdubbed in that as well, because of his west country accent. RIP, Darth "Farmer"
Craig Sawyers Posted December 5, 2020 Report Posted December 5, 2020 RIP David Prowse. I had no idea he was the Green Cross Code guy - thanks for that Grahame!
Voltron Posted December 6, 2020 Report Posted December 6, 2020 RIP Squiggy. https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2020/tv/news/david-lander-dead-dies-squiggy-laverne-shirley-1234847158/amp/ 6

robm321 Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 RIP Squiggly and General Chuck Yeager.
TMoney Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 RIP Chuck. He may be the "ace of aces" with "the right stuff" but it is hard to think about him the same way after the black astronaut candidates on a recent PBS special, Chasing the Moon, described how Yeager went out of his way to ensure a black man wouldn't go in to space in the 60s and 70s.
Pars Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 RIP Chuck... though I agree (and hadn't been aware) that discrimination as above always taints things
naamanf Posted December 8, 2020 Report Posted December 8, 2020 Rip chuck. His son was in my R/C club growing up in Oregon. Guess they didn't get along so well. Something about a big ego.
