I will have to make a loaf for him. -- I met him once at one of the bread gatherings that I use to be apart of. Very nice, and really ran the company the way that I think that most should. Owned by the people. -- https://www.bobsredmill.com/employee-owned Cheers Bob. Edited February 14 by mikeymad 4
Voltron Posted February 29 Report Posted February 29 Richard Lewis is dead at 76 after battling Parkinsons for several years. He looked terribly I'll the last couple of seasons of Curb but I'm so glad he had that vehicle for the last phase of his career. 😢 RIP to a comedy legend. https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/richard-lewis-dead-comedian-curb-your-enthusiasm-1235925744/amp/ 10
jpelg Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I just learned today that Hinton Battle passed in January. Among many roles of note, he was the original Scarecrow in The Wiz, and more recently the slick, dancing demon (and choreographer) in the Once More With Feeling episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The marquee lights of Broadway will dim on March 12th in his honor. 7
skullguise Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 A little over a month ago, but just found out today. RIP Anthony H Cordesman, Middle East Military Analyst and Audio Writer. I remember him from The Absolute Sound, so only really from that side of his career. Two obits/notes below show each side. mikeymad Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Read many of his reviews back in the day - I use to get Audio and Stereophile. RIP 2

Knuckledragger Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 RIP Marcello Gandini, who designed some of the most iconic cars ever. 8
Torpedo Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 I knew the Stratos was Bertone's design but I didn't know Gandini was the creator. RIP.
HemiSam Posted March 16 Report Posted March 16 Penned some amazing cars...godspeed, Mr. Gandini... HS

Dusty Chalk Posted March 27 Report Posted March 27 RIP the six road maintenance guys who were on the Francis Scott Key Bridge when it collapsed early this morning. Cold water, the drop, as well as the bridge collapse itself...all indications are that they did not survive. 9
Voltron Posted March 27 Report Posted March 27 RIP Richard Serra. Love his work. I was very sad when they removed his sculpture from SFMOMA in the room that they had built around it specially. 1

I was very sad when they removed his sculpture from SFMOMA in the room that they had built around it specially. Definitely relate. At least the biggie, Sequence, is still close as it moved from Palo Alto (Stanford's Cantor Center) to SFMOMA and then back to Palo Alto. Somewhere I have a photo of young Esmé, with wide eyes, getting lost in the light & shadows. 1

Voltron Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 RIP LOU. I saw that the other day but forgot about posting.
HemiSam Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 I recall being a boy and enamored with Jacqueline Bisset in The Deep. Lou did a great job of being the bad guy... HS
swt61 Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 I liked him in An Officer and a Gentleman, but thought he did a great job in Enemy Mine. 1
blessingx Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 (edited) Also Sadat, though honestly, I'm still thinking of Jacqueline Bisset. EDIT: Just going through his IMDB page... Bonanza, Alias Smith and Jones (a Head-Case favorite!), Mod Squad, Love American Style, Good Times, Six Million Dollar Man, Police Story, Roots, etc. Man, he was everywhere.
