Grahame Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Condolences to you and your family Chris. Joanne lost her mother in part to vascular dementia and Alzheimer's, and my mother is on a similar journey. It is a cruel disease, taking part of the essence of your loved ones. #FuckDementia indeed. 7
Knuckledragger Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Good grief. RIP former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, who succumbed to the injuries he sustained after being shot while giving a speech. This is a major historical event in the history of Japan, and I scarcely have the words. 1 10

Voltron Posted July 26, 2022 Report Posted July 26, 2022 RIP Wally. 😢 Damn I loved that show growing up. Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers were both going to appear at a local ComiCon that my brother was promoting for 2020. The event finally took place this month but Tony Dow was too ill to appear. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2022/07/26/arts/television/tony-dow-dead.amp.html 3

Voltron Posted July 26, 2022 Report Posted July 26, 2022 Tony Dow, known for his role as Wally Cleaver on "Leave It to Beaver," is under hospice care in his "last hours," his son tells Fox News Digital. "This is a difficult time," Christopher Dow said. "Yes, he is still alive, but in his last hours; under hospice care." Earlier Tuesday, Dow's management team said that the actor had died in a Facebook post, but the social media post has since been taken down. Dow's wife, Lauren Shulkind, gave the "false information" to his management team, his son explained to Fox News Digital. Per TMZ, Dow's wife is "very distraught" and "believed her husband was dead." She then told Dow's management team. Yikes. 5
Grahame Posted July 27, 2022 Report Posted July 27, 2022 (edited) RIP Choco Taco(s) https://thetakeout.com/choco-taco-discontinued-1849327038 https://www.npr.org/2022/07/26/1113692240/choco-taco-discontinued-ice-cream https://www.washingtonpost.com/food/2022/07/26/choco-tacos-klondike-discontinued/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/food/2022/07/26/choco-taco-appreciation-nostalgia/ The Choco Taco saved me in my hour of need, when, while undergoing a grueling wait outside the temple of encased meats, the now defunct Hot Dougs, some kindly gents took pity on us, and provided sustenance for us, in the form of the aforementioned Choco Taco(s). They were well received. Choco Taco, We Salute You! You will be missed. Edited July 27, 2022 by Grahame 11

morphsci Posted July 31, 2022 Report Posted July 31, 2022 We had to let Isabella go yesterday. She was declining rapidly this last week so we took her to the vet to get a professional opinion on her condition. She had a good 12+ year run 1 20

TMoney Posted July 31, 2022 Report Posted July 31, 2022 RIP Bill Russell. One of the great American sportsmen of the 20th century. A true champion and a gentleman who brought respect and dignity to his sport. He had been declining physically for a long time but it is sad to see him go. Also sorry for your loss, Jim. A lovely dog indeed. 3 1
Voltron Posted July 31, 2022 Report Posted July 31, 2022 Good girl Isabella. You can go play now. 😢 RIP to legends and trailblazers Bill Russell and Nichelle Nichols. George Tekai is going to be so sad. 1
Voltron Posted July 31, 2022 Report Posted July 31, 2022 We happened to take a walk to the cemetery and I remembered the Enterprise being on this stone but I didn't recall the basketball theme was there too. This guy is getting a two-fer in heaven today.
