Voltron Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 This absolutely sucks big time. RIP Mr. Bowie, you left us too early. And FUCK cancer! All of this!
Audiojunkie Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 A huge loss to the world! It was a better place with David Bowie in it! 1
MoonShine Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 A cool short story by Neil Gaiman from Trigger Warning: Return of the Thin White Duke http://www.neilgaiman.com/Cool_Stuff/Short_Stories/The_Return_of_the_Thin_White_Duke It's a quick read. 1
CD44hi Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Alan Rickman, RIP. Cancer strikes again. I had no idea he was sick. Quite liked him as an actor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MexicanDragon Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 I had just come in here to post this. I really liked Rickman. Bummed about this one. **BRENT**
shellylh Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Fuck cancer and RIP Rickman. Loved him as an actor. 2
TMoney Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 RIP. Hans Gruber was a heck of a movie villain. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
HemiSam Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 RIP, Mr. Rickman. You played a great bad guy. HS
Hopstretch Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Well shit, what a crappy month. Brilliant actor.
guzziguy Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 RIP David Bowie and Alan Rickman, two huge losses.
Craig Sawyers Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Bugger, bugger, bugger - two massive losses within a few days. Both at 69, both from cancer. Remember Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham? "When we get him I'll cut out his heart with a spoon" "Why with a spoon?" "Because it will hurt more!" One of the best interviews with Bowie, by Johnathon Ross - Bowie, at that time 55 and looking great and relaxed, with a whole bunch of music. 1

swt61 Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Galaxy Quest and Dogma were some of my favorite Rickman roles, but the recent CBGB was excellent. RIP Alan. 1

HemiSam Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Impressionable time for me during his series. RIP Mr. Haggerty. HS
skullguise Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 RIP Grizzly Adams.....always enjoyed that show...... I looked him up on IMDB, never realized how much he did (almost all I hadn't heard of though).
robm321 Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 RIP Grizzly Adams. Another staple from my childhood gone. Just a bad week and Fuck cancer.
Mister X Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 I would say it was a very bad week. http://www.winkelfuneralhome.com/william-s-wyant/ RIP dad. And yeah, FUCK CANCER.

And yeah, FUCK CANCER. Very sad news. I'm sorry to learn of your loss. It's been nearly 9 years since I lost my dad (to cancer as well) and in some ways, it feels like it was just yesterday. He will no doubt stay with you in the memories that you carry in your heart. May he rest in peace. Semper Fi, and much respect for his service. Just wanted to mention (since I was the one who started this thread way back when), that the "some fuck or another" in the thread title wasn't meant to be disrespectful at all. If you go back to read my opening post, you'll see the context and intent, and that it's really about acknowledging the contributions that many people in society have made to our lives, whether we knew them personally or not. With parents and other close family members and friends who we've recently lost, it's each person's call whether you think this is the right place, or you would prefer to have a dedicated thread. In any case, I think that is probably worth repeating every now and then since this has become such a long thread. But ya... fuck cancer, indeed. Edited January 17, 2016 by Wmcmanus 2
