blessingx Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) I don't see anything in the normal channels, but according to a few Twitter posts Little Jimmy Scott is dead. Such a great voice. RIP. Edited June 13, 2014 by blessingx

MexicanDragon Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 RIP, Casey Kasem. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/casey-kasem-dead-82/story?id=24016102 **BRENT**
Voltron Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I don't have any great regard for him, but it is sad that Casey's last days were spent being secreted away from his children by his current wife. Weird stories including court orders and the wife flinging meat at the daughter... Keep your feet on the ground but keep reaching for the stars. RIP CK
blessingx Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 I had no idea of his voice work... Chief among his performances was that of of "Shaggy" in the Scooby-Doo franchise from 1969 to 1997, and again from 2002 until 2009. Kasem had done numerous voices for Sesame Street; provided the voice of Peter Cottontail in the Rankin/Bass' Here Comes Peter Cottontail; provided the voices of Robin on Super Friends, Alex in Josie and The Pussycats; Mark of Battle of the Planets, and a number of characters for the Transformers cartoon series of the 1980s. Most recently he did the voice of Shaggy's father in the 2010 TV series, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
Wmcmanus Posted June 15, 2014 Author Report Posted June 15, 2014 RIP, Casey. My favorite was this comic gem:
skullguise Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Weird ending to his life, felt bad for his kids. RIP to a big piece of music history....
Voltron Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 RIP Tony Gwynn at age 54. He was amazing to watch tearing up my Giants for so many years. Fuck cancer, that is simply too young to go.
guzziguy Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 RIP Tony, one of the all time great hitters.
Audiojunkie Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 RIP...what a fantastic ball player! One of the best hitters I've seen.
agile_one Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 RIP, Tony. Great player, and one of the all around good guys.
skullguise Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 RIP...what a fantastic ball player! One of the best hitters I've seen. This. RIP Tony, and indeed fuck cancer! 1
Wmcmanus Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Posted June 17, 2014 This. RIP Tony, and indeed fuck cancer! Ya, no kidding. His was rough, too. Mouth cancer from the chewing tobacco. Fucking hate cancer. As for Tony, he was incredible, and he never got too excited. You just couldn't strike him out. Best contact hitter I've ever seen. Better than Rod Carew, better than Boggs, Ichiro, any of them really.
Voltron Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 RIP Horace Silver. Another of the true greats is gone. Heaven just got funkier. I know what I'll be playing tonight. 1
agile_one Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Amen, brother ... Nica's Dream cued up now ... giant, soulful player and band leader. RIP, Horace.
