Grahame Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 RIP http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/05/13/the_weird_and_wonderful_mind_of_hr_giger_is_no_more/ Raise a toast at a Giger Bar?
blessingx Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 RIP Malik Bendjelloul. Directed, produced, edited and co-wrote "Searching For Sugar Man." Dead at 36. http://www.indiewire.com/article/oscar-winning-searching-for-sugar-man-director-dead-at-36
Voltron Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 RIP Giger, but damn, that really sucks about Bendjelloul dying at 36.  That movie and the entire story he brought to the world are amazing.  36 is way too young to go.  RIP Malik
Wmcmanus Posted May 14, 2014 Author Report Posted May 14, 2014 That movie and the entire story he brought to the world are amazing.  36 is way too young to go.  RIP Malik  Totally agree.  First of all, 36 is just a horrific age to die.  So much left to do and see and experience.  Sad.  But if he had to choose just one project to do first, I can't imagine he could have chosen a better one.  Fantastic story, awesome music, and amazingly well constructed documentary.  RIP.  Wow. 1
blessingx Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Maya Angelou RIP.http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/29/arts/maya-angelou-lyrical-witness-of-the-jim-crow-south-dies-at-86.html?_r=0"But to grow up costs the earth, the earth. It means you take responsibility for the time you take up, for the space you occupy. It’s serious business. And you find out what it costs us to love and to lose, to dare and to fail. And maybe even more, to succeed."http://www.theparisreview.org/interviews/2279/the-art-of-fiction-no-119-maya-angelou
Wmcmanus Posted June 1, 2014 Author Report Posted June 1, 2014 Good night, Alice. Â You were a friend to all of us. Â RIP.http://www.tmz.com/2014/06/01/ann-b-davis-dead-alice-from-the-brady-bunch-dies-at-age-88/
Hopstretch Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 Rik Mayall. It's a pity that most Americans will only remember him (if at all) for "Drop Dead Fred."
Grahame Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 RIP Rik. Â Rik, Richie, Lord Flasheart, Alan B'Stard (Biggest Majority in the House). Â RIP http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-27772259
skullguise Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 I need to look for and watch some of his work. Â Never saw (thankfully) Drop Dead Fred...... Â RIP.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 I bet more Americans have seen Young Ones than Drop Dead Fred. Â
spritzer Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 Going to watch some Bottom now. Damn shame...
Audio Jester Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 It's sad about Rik. Young Ones was truly magnificent.
Aimless1 Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 I have lost two friends in the past few weeks..   5/24/14 - Evert Kramer (no relation) - complications from a stroke at age 74. An old grouse hunting friend. Made Rush Limbaugh look like a flaming liberal. Since I lean to the liberal pov you can imagine the conversations we had.   6/9/14 - Edward Zobel - natural causes at age 92. Ed had been my oldest livng friend. He was proud to be a contrarian. Entertaining to listen to each of us take a position opposite each other just for the fun of it. I learned a great deal about being a man and a father from Ed.  I miss Evert but Ed left a hole in my heart. Rest in peace my friends.
Voltron Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) Sounds like a couple of great characters. Â RIP Ed and Evert. Â Well, hopefully not too peaceful -- maybe they are debating something together in the great beyond! Â Edited June 11, 2014 by Voltron 1
Wmcmanus Posted June 11, 2014 Author Report Posted June 11, 2014 Sounds like you lost two good friends for whom you had great respect. Â RIP gentlemen. Â You lived well.
morphsci Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Sorry for your losses Al. RIP Edward and Evert.
