Wmcmanus Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 I know next to nothing of the Buddhist faith, but now have a rather loose connection to one of their spiritual leaders who passed away today (it's not even in the news yet). Her sister is an active member at ClausNet (a Mrs. Claus type whose husband is also a member). She let me know of her sister's passing via a private message this morning. RIP, Venerable Karuna Dharma. http://www.karunadharma.info/
Bigguy Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Harold Ramis of Ghostbuster, and many more, fame dead at 69
emelius Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) sucks... Edited February 24, 2014 by emelius
Voltron Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 That totally sucks. I didn't know about his freakish disease. Harold Ramis practically wrote my teens/twenties, and directed or starred in some of the best ones to: Animal House / Caddyshack / SCTV / Stripes / Ghostbusters / Groundhog Day / etc. RIP Dr. Spengler
blessingx Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Seems appropriate...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYCbF0Fat-c
acidbasement Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 That's a shame. Every movie he touched was better for it. 1
agile_one Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 RIP, H.R. Tons of good, funny stuff from his pen and acting. Definitely will be missed.
Aura Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Groundhog Day is one of my favorites. He had a very minor role in As Good As It Gets but I also really liked his casting. And he was super nice and a true Chicagoan. Quite a shame.

Dusty Chalk Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Yup, I go all the way back to SCTV, too. The world just got a little less comedic. I has a sad. RIP, you should be proud of the legacy you left behind.
morphsci Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 R.I.P. Dr. Spengler. I think I will name our next dog Egon.
Riotvan Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Very sad indeed, R.I.P. This does note bode well for the future of the Ghostbusters franchise
