NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 It was built by the craftsman swt61 based off a design I sent him. The stand is made from gaboon ebony (the blackest of woods), bloodwood and quilted maple. It will be the resting place for my ps-1's once it arrives. Biggie.
thrice Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 That looks gorgeous man....absolutely stunning!
philodox Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 That stand looks hott Jamie! Congrats.
NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted February 20, 2007 Author Report Posted February 20, 2007 Thanks for the comments. Looks beefy! Lol, yeah I wasn't expecting there to be so much wood put into it! It looks very sturdy. ^^ Biggie.
thrice Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Thanks for the comments. Lol, yeah I wasn't expecting there to be so much wood put into it! It looks very sturdy. Sigh.......that's what she said
909 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 I really like his woodwork. And that is a fine looking stand. what much did it cost?
deepak Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Damn I think every stand of his just looks better than the last. Nice one.
NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted February 20, 2007 Author Report Posted February 20, 2007 I really like his woodwork. And that is a fine looking stand. what much did it cost? Well lets just say it cost more then any of Larry's most expensive options. The gaboon ebony is quite expensive to source. Heres my crude concept drawing: And more pics: Biggie.
NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted February 21, 2007 Author Report Posted February 21, 2007 Luckily cheaper then that. Biggie.
ojnihs Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Luckily cheaper then that. Biggie. Oh that's good to hear. If I was still into home setups I'd get one from swt61 for sure.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 I didn't know what thread to put this under, so I put it under this one. I'm sure this guy is on Head-Fi, but I haven't seen this stand before, and thought it was wonderful, so I post it here.
aerius Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 That's cheapskate ingenuity at its best. Get some pipe, screw it to a board, and then put pipe insulation on it.
qazwsx Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 I didn't know what thread to put this under, so I put it under this one. I'm sure this guy is on Head-Fi, but I haven't seen this stand before, and thought it was wonderful, so I post it here. That is just bad.
grawk Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Ooh. I'm tempted to do it with copper and leather.
KenW Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 That's cheapskate ingenuity at its best. Get some pipe, screw it to a board, and then put pipe insulation on it. Works for me. Might not be the prettiest, but it certainly gets the job done. I might "splurge" and get one of those aluminum Woo jobs.
philodox Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Hmmm... cheapskate ingenuity... and there is a Grado hanging on it... interesting.
aerius Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Hmmm... cheapskate ingenuity... and there is a Grado hanging on it... interesting. It's a new high in co-ordination, a ghetto looking stand for a ghetto looking headphone.
909 Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Ooh. I'm tempted to do it with copper and leather. cool idea
909 Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 It's a new high in co-ordination, a ghetto looking stand for a ghetto looking headphone. and if someone tries to fuck with you or your shit--just whop them a few times nice and hard in the head with it. Not only a ghetto stand, but a deadly ghetto pimp weapon.
Augsburger Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Kind of resembles the fire sprinkler pipe in my office.
postjack Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 For some reason I want to grip the handlebars and ride this headphone stand up to the Tom Thumb to get some comics and gobstoppers.
