aardvark baguette Posted September 22, 2014 Report Posted September 22, 2014 Solid Steel hyperspike were nice when I had bookshelves. I am a big fan of of 3 leg stands. They are a bitch to fill with sand though.
blessingx Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Thanks and interesting. They pair nicely too. 2
blessingx Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Music Direct, the only US distributors, has the ominous "call for availability" listed. After talking with them emailed SolidSteel in Italy (stands no longer on their site). They'll be back in production in the near future and the US should get them Decemberish. That didn't sound exactly definitive.
aardvark baguette Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 isnt that always the way? every time i figure out what i want its gone
Dusty Chalk Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 I've always liked BillyBags stuff, although it's so expensive, I don't own anything by them:
Voltron Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 SolidSteel is a good company, but Italians will be Italians...
ironbut Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 I have a pair of isoAcoustic desktop stands. I like them because I can adjust the height by diy the uprights (copper pipe with black shrink wrap). I wouldn't swear that they do much to improve the sound of the speakers but they do seem to dampen the amount of bass that radiates from the desktop which is a good thing in my case. I think if I was using stands, I'd use the foam stand iso (I think it's from Aurelex). Now that I think about it, once you get your stands, give me a holler. I'll bring over the isoAcoustics and maybe an amp or 2 when I get the time.
blessingx Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Sounds good. All the stands I like are expensive (of course), which when combined with the speakers cost starts to approach KEF R500 prices, which leads to thoughts I didn't want to have.
luvdunhill Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 I have reused ATC stands in the past with great success...
