swt61 Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I need some reasonably priced speaker stands. I've taken my Daber Audio Monitor 3's out of storage, and I've shipped them to my new home in the Sacramento area, but I'll want some 18" to 22" stands to get them at a good height. I've combed the web, but thought you guys might have some recommendations that I may have overlooked. Quote
swt61 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Report Posted July 16, 2013 Damn that's cheap! I need to go to Ikea on Thursday anyway (bed frame, nightstands, bedding), so that's a great option. Thanks for the tip! Quote
Voltron Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 These from http://coreaudiodesigns.com/products/speaker-stands/Free the first time you visit Mayberry as a California resident. Quote
swt61 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Report Posted July 16, 2013 OMG! Those are gorgeous! And I love that the height is adjustable. Are you sure you don't want to hold onto them? Quote
Voltron Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Sure am. JP sold to me for a song when he moved and I am not using them anymore or anytime soon. Quote
swt61 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Report Posted July 16, 2013 Well they'll be perfect for my needs. I'll buy you breakfast at the Hummingbird! Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 OM, those are gorgeous. Also -- nice match -- wood for Dr. Wood. Quote
Grahame Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Well they'll be perfect for my needs. I'll buy you breakfast at the Hummingbird! Does Gene know about this arrangement? Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Does Gene need to know about this arrangement? Quote
cetoole Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 There is something poetic about Steve receiving wood that extends to 29". Poetic may be the wrong word, but I can't be arsed to think of the right one. Very nice stands, I was gonna suggest S2 audio but I hear they are taking a break. 1 Quote
n_maher Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Steve, You need to learn that when your lawyer gives you advice, you shut up and listen. As usual, Al, your generosity is astounding. Quote

luvdunhill Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Anyone know where I can find a 300B amp which is kinda over the top in terms of engineering, extra-complex one might say? Quote
RudeWolf Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) http://www.neurochrome.com/audio/?page_id=543 It's pretty complex for a 300B amp. Edited July 16, 2013 by RudeWolf Quote
Voltron Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Anyone know where I can find a 300B amp which is kinda over the top in terms of engineering, extra-complex one might say? Here is the schematic and instructions so just break out your soldering iron and get to it. Quote
luvdunhill Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I smell a double standard here. Perhaps I should have announced my retirement first 1 Quote
Voltron Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 The UC300B is still in use, unlike the stands. If you need any VCRs, a DVD burner, or used light fixtures, you can drop by Mayberry and pick those up too! Quote
blessingx Posted September 22, 2014 Report Posted September 22, 2014 Speaking of... Besides Loki, Skylan, and Core, any other stands people particularly like? Looks like the Skylans (which I once owned) match the LS50s (which I'll be using them with) nicely. Also any believers in the isoAcoustics? Quote
