swt61 Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 My favorite Gandolfini role was as Winston Baldry in The Mexican. R.I.P. James.
Voltron Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I imagine he was thinking of the ducks when he passed. RIP JIMMY
Wmcmanus Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 So young, so sad, an apparent heart attack. RIP.
postjack Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Just saw this in the times, shocked. Rest in peace.
The Monkey Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I just watched the final scene of the Sopranos that Ric posted (for the 1000th time) and not to be too melodramatic about it or go off on a tangent, but it Gandolfini's death somehow for me really brings out the sadness in that beautiful sequence.
Torpedo Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Shocking and sad. Great loss, he'll be missed.

Voltron Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Italy is awesome but I would hate to be in his situation anywhere at all remote from immediate healthcare.
The Monkey Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 I haven't seen it since the original airing, but does the ending also seem much less nebulous now? To me, absolutely yes, much less.
Voltron Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 a hotel in Rome shouldn't be remote from immediate healthcare. If it was really Rome then that is inexcusable.
Torpedo Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Problem in Rome is traffic. It's always heavily congested, damn slow. Even an ambulance would have trouble there.
robm321 Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 From what I've read, the ambulance got there quickly and the 40 minutes was how long they tried to revive him.
robm321 Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) No, unfortunately, it doesn't. Either way, if/when I go to Italy, I'll be sure to take a first aid kit with me. Edited June 21, 2013 by robm321
emelius Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 laughing at the thought of how quickly you'd get pounced on trying to take an AED onto a plane...We used to have a test mode in the x-ray machine that would display grenades & pipe bombs to keep you on your toes...No way you'd get through with that w/o a thorough prodding/probing... I may have to hit up HBOGo to rewatch the last episode of The Sopranos...
