Richard NorrisJack The Tab album produced by Genesis P-Orridge and myself. Featuring David Ball (the first time we worked together), Nick Haeffner, Matthew Best, Laura Bee, Alaura O'Dell Richard Evans and more. Recorded Sept 1987, released March 1988. This is the limited Japanese picture disc. One of the first (perhaps the first) albums to reference acid house, although sounding far more acid than house 1f642.png:) It was an amazing recording session, one of the best I've experienced so far, and a blueprint for much future work. Ultra quick - no track took more than an hour, except the one me and Dave did that took an hour and a half. Loads of people jamming with samplers, Atari, keyboards, tapes, video, cassette. Children, dogs, 2 fun days in Chiswick then a little tidy up a week later.
Surely time for a 30 year reissue?

I think it stands up as we were excited about the idea of psychedelic dance music, rather than being directly informed by a genre either psychedelia or dance. Tricky to do that, some of the best records come out that way. Will keep trying...

It looks like we'll put it out. I'm not sure if there's an expanded issue to be done.. i did have a cassette of alternate mixes but who knows where it is.. be good to make a decent package with sleeve notes anyway and get it out there.

We hadn't heard any when we made it. it was purely made as a response to Gen saying to me 'have you heard about this thing called acid house?' and us both being excited about the possibility of a psychedelic dance music. We'd heard house - Gen had connections in Chicago - but it wasn't until after the album was finished did we hear much 303. Only a month or so after, maybe
