n_maher Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Speaking of the funny, every time I see this I get a good chuckle...
laxx Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Lol, I remember when you made that post. I chuckled while at work. =T I think his cables are ugly as shit.
Nenso Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I wanted to know what the "best" (according to many head-fiers) ipod line out sounds like. Anyone want to buy it? It is still in perfect condition and I'll sell it to anyone for a GREAT price of $164USD s&h not included.
postjack Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Speaking of the funny, every time I see this I get a good chuckle... Lol, whats the story behind that one?
n_maher Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I think the full title ends with "Pays Jude a Visit" but I just love that the way the forums are setup it allows one to use their imagination to complete the sentence.

LOL. I was really thinking it was a thread somebody started that got zapped or something.
swt61 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Note: you bought a $165 Ipod dock. Nuff said. Hmmmf, I sell one for $399.00.
n_maher Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Hmmmf, I sell one for $399.00. You should really cover it in techflex. You could totally like charge twice as much if you did. And don't forget name brand logo heat shrink in an illegible font. That's how the really cool kids roll.

And don't forget name brand logo heat shrink in an illegible font. That's how the really cool kids roll. That'd be some big ass techflex! Can I use some fishnet stalkings and call it techflex?
Dusty Chalk Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I read that as "paid Jude a bizzel". Bizzel == a lot. That'd be some big ass techflex! Can I use some fishnet stalkings and call it techflex? Whatever you want, sailor.
kpeezy Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Here are my second and third DIY attempts. The first cable is the same as this 2nd RCA cable but with a different y-split. This 2nd RCA cable uses the extra stress relievers that came with the RCA plugs to cover the Y-split. Just an extension cable
n_maher Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Just a little pair of splitters built this weekend using Vampire male and female RCA's and 24ga HGA solid silver in time smearing teflon.
Fitz Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 That'd be some big ass techflex! Can I use some fishnet stalkings and call it techflex? Only if they're as stiff and ugly as regular techflex.
swt61 Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Only if they're as stiff and ugly as regular techflex. Note to self; buy fishnet stalkings from an aging hooker so that they're sufficiently crusty and stiff.

n_maher Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 an 8-conductor umbilical cable: Nice! For my next project I decided to go w/ dual 4-pin Amphenol's.

I'm gonna have to turn my rack around now, so people can see that beauty! The fiberglass sleeving is gorgeous, and looks to be exactly the right size. Was it difficult to get it over the cable?
luvdunhill Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 Nice! For my next project I decided to go w/ dual 4-pin Amphenol's. sweet. I really, really like the 14-pin silver Amphenol connectors I'm using for my electrostatic amps. I am now doing an external DC heater supply for a number of different applications and decided to use the new high current Neutrik connectors. I have some very heavy gauge cable (12awg x 4) that I'm looking to use: The cable I used for the above is an 8-conductor, each with multiple sized UP-OCC copper conductors. These are twisted around a center polyethylene core then housed in a rubber sheathing. I've starting liking to "build you own cable" using the Neotech cable products of late. Quite nice.
luvdunhill Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 The fiberglass sleeving is gorgeous, and looks to be exactly the right size. Was it difficult to get it over the cable? nope, it flexes a tiny amount
n_maher Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 I am now doing an external DC heater supply for a number of different applications and decided to use the new high current Neutrik connectors. Ooooh, I hadn't seen those. I smell a custom power cable in my near future. I have some very heavy gauge cable (12awg x 4) that I'm looking to use:I tend to use pretty generic stuff in my power cables, usually sourced from the local big box store. I'll have to look more closely at the VH audio stuff and Neotech for my current project which will have a 10A heater. [edit]scratch Neotech off my list, any company that makes bulk cable that costs $300 a foot is bonkers.
swt61 Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 [edit]scratch Neotech off my list, any company that makes bulk cable that costs $300 a foot is bonkers. That's what I use on all my power tools, I find I can make a Ryobi perform like a Festool with that power cable.
luvdunhill Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 [edit]scratch Neotech off my list, any company that makes bulk cable that costs $300 a foot is bonkers. at least it's already cryo'ed
n_maher Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 at least it's already cryo'ed That fact makes me want to buy it less.
luvdunhill Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 That's what I use on all my power tools, I find I can make a Ryobi perform like stool with that power cable. fixed that for you
