TMoney Posted May 11, 2022 Report Posted May 11, 2022 This is great analysis. Max is probably in the fastest car, but Carlos's mistakes in the first couple of corners let him by and make it much easier for him to reel in Charles 10 laps later.
Torpedo Posted May 11, 2022 Report Posted May 11, 2022 I wouldn't say that was a mistake. He couldn't go elsewhere having Leclerc breaking right in front and Max close enough so he couldn't get the outside. 1
TMoney Posted June 19, 2022 Report Posted June 19, 2022 Gonna be hard to see anyone catching Max. He just looks flawless out there. I feel very bad for Mick S. That poor kid just can't catch a break.
Torpedo Posted July 3, 2022 Report Posted July 3, 2022 No it didn't. I'm glad Carlos won, it was about time that nothing broke in his car. Things keep getting more interesting. A miracle that Zhou was unhurt. 2
robm321 Posted July 4, 2022 Report Posted July 4, 2022 ^ yes very relieved that Zhou was ok. This year is so much more interesting than when the silver arrows dominated.
TMoney Posted July 14, 2022 Report Posted July 14, 2022 Nice NYT write-up on DTS: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/14/magazine/formula-1-miami-drive-to-survive.html
TMoney Posted July 24, 2022 Report Posted July 24, 2022 I am sad for Charles. He had a win within his grasp.
TMoney Posted October 10, 2022 Report Posted October 10, 2022 Kind of a crappy end of the season with two rainy races in a row, but congrats to Max V. He had the fastest car, but he drove the wheels off the damn thing. Since about the third or forth race of the season he has left exactly zero doubt who the world champion would be. Here is hoping that Ferrari, Merc, Alpine, etc can give him more of a run for his money in 2023. 1
Torpedo Posted October 11, 2022 Report Posted October 11, 2022 Yup. seasons with such domination are boring. Last year was a lot more fun.

Torpedo Posted November 12, 2022 Report Posted November 12, 2022 American team, the driver is danish. What a qualifying session 2 1
TMoney Posted November 12, 2022 Report Posted November 12, 2022 (edited) Happy for KMAG. Guy has been grinding all year in the shit-box Haas. It is a shame the sprint races are always a snooze-fest, but that doesn't take away from his happy day. Edited November 12, 2022 by TMoney 1
padam Posted November 14, 2022 Report Posted November 14, 2022 Well, Sunday's race was eventful at least...
Torpedo Posted November 14, 2022 Report Posted November 14, 2022 Yup, I had a lot of fun and was glad for George and Carlos. I can't believe Verstappen didn't swap places to increase the points account for Checo's subchampionship, what a dick. 2
padam Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 Yeah, pretty much. Looking at the other side though, I find it interesting that even though the intent seems quite obvious, there were no repercussions. In football it would be a red card. (But of course he was playing wingman for a long time already.)
TMoney Posted November 19, 2022 Report Posted November 19, 2022 Setting up for a fun one tomorrow with so much still left in play. Battle for 2nd between Perez (p2) and Leclerc (p3) who are tied on points. Ferrari Boyz trying to hold off the late charging Mercs in the constructors. Ditto Alpine and McLaren. Sir Lewis with his last chance of winning a Grand Prix this season. Let’s see if I can get up in time for the 5AM PST start 🙃 1
Torpedo Posted November 19, 2022 Report Posted November 19, 2022 I'm afraid the race is going to be a lot less fun than we'd like. Max and Checo have a lot of chances to score a doublet and it's even possible that Max lets Checo win to wash his bad image on last race. Ferrari should be looking at the rear mirror to avoid Mercedes getting the head over them and stealing the sub championship in the very last race. Ferrari is going to struggle keeping the front tyres alive long enough. I for one I'm going to enjoy whatever it happens, but I'm looking forward to the next season. Winter is too long for F1 lovers 2
mikeymad Posted December 1, 2022 Report Posted December 1, 2022 Just goes to show there has been controversy in F1 almost as long as I have been alive. And dig that soundtrack for Wheelbase! 1
