Cheers to Dave. My Dad was into him, he saw him several time way back in the day.  Got my Dad's records after he passed..

Just happen to be listening to this last night...

Wow, just wow.  Dave made jazz accessible to the mainstream without loosing his cool.  I could, and have, listened to his music forever.  Saw him early on in his career at Newport Jazz fest and Storyville in Boston way back, then late when he was 80 + yo.  All were memorable.

RIP, Dave.

You said it Gene....he was one of my first entries into Jazz, and Take Five will always be one of my favorites.  Have enjoyed a lot of his other work, but as the first thing I heard, it stands above.

RIP, great man.....

Another fan here. Extremely accessible and so talented at keeping things simple and letting the music shine through in the performance. He understood that it wasn't all about him, but in the moods that his music could help to create in the listener's heart and mind. Will have to break out some vinyl tonight in his honor.

Just heard.

If you never saw Brubeck live, you really missed out.

He had a way of making everyone in the audience feel like he was an old friend playing in your living room.

I feel a personal loss in his passing.
