kevin gilmore
by the way, the newer krell power supply was cloned from this one and only picture http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/newkrellps.jpg no schematics were available, and no one I know actually had one, boozebuttons had the older one
luvdunhill
I want a collection of audio company branded transistors. That would be awesome wall art.
fordgtlover
Almost finished the amp, and waiting on a Mouser order for P/S parts. Edited September 28, 2013 by fordgtlover
fordgtlover
My zener power supply is up and running and temporarily cased. I couldn't find a 27V transformer so I've used a 25V one, which results in an output voltage of the power supply at ~20.5v. Is using a 25v transformer a problem? kevin gilmore
That is right depending on the second stage zeners. If unreg voltage is at least 35 you will be fine Edited October 13, 2013 by kevin gilmore

fordgtlover
Cheers. Do you have a cost on the TX? Edited October 20, 2013 by fordgtlover
fishski13
not yet. i'm contacting Richard on Mon. 27V/50VA i'm guessing will be around $50-60 + shipping. i'll let you know. no 4.7uF Wima from Mouser until mid Dec. may try to parallel 3.3uF and 1uF with the latter mounted perpendicular/flush underneath the pcb. spritzer
You can try the Wima distributor instead. They sell small lots.
fishski13
thanks Bigir. i have a bunch of 50V 4.7uF Wimas in the parts bin with 5mm pitch. any issues going with a lower VDC rating? since we're looking at decoupling rails of 21V and compensation on the DC servo, 50VDC should be safe? spritzer
That should be just fine.

kevin gilmore
When you are trying to sell a used 20 year old amp for $5k what do you Expect. It is a great amp but not for very low sensitivity headphones

Is there a suggested service that has successfully done a run with these files?
