VPI Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 Decided it was way too cold to do any work myself so I had the new saddle, pedals and tires put on at the shop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5
MexicanDragon Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 Xavier and I went out for a ~13 mile ride in the rain today with a buddy of mine who is testing out his new bike and wheels. Not sure if buddy's flash went off for this one or what, but man, this bike is gorgeous. **BRENT** 5
jose Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 I love the shimano dura ace 9000 crankset 1
MexicanDragon Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 I love the shimano dura ace 9000 crankset  [emoji6]Right? That's my buddy's bike. He's pretty happy with it. Lynskey is based, and that frame was made, about 15 minutes from my house.Buy local, right?**BRENT**
jose Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) yes? is a nice bike. Titanium or aluminum? I´m very happy too with my dura ace. Only loses around 60 grs if you compare with the Ultegra crankset but the dura ace look is IMO very beautiful. On my bike Edited December 21, 2016 by jose 1
MexicanDragon Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 Why titanium, of course **BRENT**Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk 2
tyrion Posted December 21, 2016 Report Posted December 21, 2016 That Linskey is a cool frame. I almost bought one from a guy down here but it just didn't fit me right. 1
VPI Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Got a gift from the bike shop where I purchased the Warbird. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 6
Pars Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Cute! Good chains too (KMC). Switched to those from SRAM. Did it come with some of the Two Brothers also?
VPI Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 Just the Two Brothers coffee. No beer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CD44hi Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 That is a smart bike shop, unlike freshbikes, eh Jeff?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Dreadhead Posted December 22, 2016 Report Posted December 22, 2016 I live 10 minutes drive from my shop and I ended up having to mail them a check recently. They were doing their annual bike drive for local kids and I bought 2 kids a bike. It is depressing how little time I have for anything not work or kids during daylight hours. 3
MexicanDragon Posted December 29, 2016 Report Posted December 29, 2016 So here is Xavier's new kit he got for Satanmas, from helmet down to socks. He was so super excited, and I got one of the biggest hugs of my life when he opened this. An even bigger hug was a little while ago when I told him that if he gave me a large part of the $$$ he's saved up, I'd help him get a new road bike, since he's outgrowing his. Our goal is 1500 miles in 2017; should be an interesting year. Diamondback Podium 700c 46cm... which will be replacing his Diamondback Podium 650c, which fit fine in October, and now his knees hit the bars if he's not careful, as of November. I can't wait to get this thing here and built. **BRENT** 9
VPI Posted January 5, 2017 Report Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) Stopped by the bike shop to inquire about a more carbonfibery fatbike and took some pics in the bathroom, no not in a perverty way. And got some new silicone grips and 45Nrth pogies for winter rides. Update: Did a ride in the 8 degree, 10+ MPH wind neighborhood with no gloves underneath the pogies in complete comfort. These things are awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited January 5, 2017 by VPI 4
n_maher Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Non-carbonfibery bike adoption services available. 6
MexicanDragon Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 What's in da baaaahhhhhxxxxx? Some parts.Darker blue than we thought.Happiest kid in the world in this moment.**BRENT** 14
luvdunhill Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Jeff, you would fit right into the Chinese bike culture with those mitts
VPI Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 I fit right into the Illinois riders that still have all their fingers bike culture. 3
swt61 Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Yep! The frostbite culture is way overrated! I use similar for my scooter. Trust me, on cold days they're necessary as hell, and anyone who thinks I'm a cold weather wimp doesn't know me at all. Also consider wind chill at 60 mph on a 38 degree day.

VPI Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Speaking of crazy ass cold riding, we signed up for a fatbike, beer and chili ride this weekend where the temps will be a balmy 20ish degrees with wind. Reserved an electric Specialized fatbike for Kasia which should be a cool ride and I am providing my own or borrowing a CF Salsa for my ride. While I got tons of base layers for Xmas, I need to find something for Kasia. What are the bike nerd accepted base layers these days, Craft? 2
