Dreadhead
The ride today was awesome. You guys should come and do that loop sometime.http://app.strava.com/activities/162500330 I am a whole lot slower than I was at this time last year but I am at peace with that. I am not going to compromise large quantities of time with the boys to be better on the bike. Edited July 6, 2014 by Dreadhead
grawk
there are some serious climbs on that route.
n_maher
Brought the roubaix with me on vacation. Unpacked it only to find the rear hub is pooched. Thankfully there was a reputable shop within ten minutes and they were open Sunday. It's already fixed and I'll get it tomorrow morning.
Dreadhead
there are some serious climbs on that route. They are not too bad, not flat but not killer.
grawk
Did 18 miles with the kids today. My oldest lost the tip of a presta valve, and ended up walking 2 miles to a place where I could pick him up in the car. Otherwise, a good ride. I did it on my old school nishiki. CD44hi
Did 15 on Friday and 28 yesterday. No humidity and nice temps. The only drawback was the number of people on the road. But not up Ross though
grawk
They are not too bad, not flat but not killer. 1400 ft of climbing is killer for my fitness level
cetoole
Wanted to go out for a run today, but legs weren't up for since I ran the last two days, so I finally got out on the road bike for the first time in the PNW. Really nice day, and was a quite fun 16 miles on local trails, except for that stupid hill at the end. I am pretty sure that the Cervelo I borrowed from Jeff a few weeks back had acme rocket boosters built in or something. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/536270328 Edited July 7, 2014 by cetoole
justin
1400 ft of climbing is killer for my fitness level do we know how many feet it really is? i think some of our results were around 1400, or 2000, or 800..was all over the place
Nebby
My garmin recorded 1400ft or so when we last rode it, if that counts for anything.
Dreadhead
The loop I did yesterday was about twice as much climbing as what we did before. Either way you guys should come and ride sometime
VPI
Definitely up for another Lake House Ride. Might even try to the throw the Kayak on the roof for some after ride rowing.

Mister X
Goodwill had posted an ad in the local craigslist bikes section so I went and took a look. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Trek-420-Bike-17146823.html An old beat up Trek 420 was no surprise but this one was----------> http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Specialized-Sirrus-LTD-Road-Bike-wKsyrium-Elite-17140072.html $195 shipping though. grawk
Holy crap. Who put those wheels on that bike? I finished building up my 99 fsr today. XTR rear XT front and shifters. I still need to rebuild the rockshox Judy fork, but it's rideable:
Pars
That Trek probably wouldn't be too bad. I would bet it is closer to 24-25lbs, and should have 700c wheels (Matrix rims, 15g stainless spokes, Sansin sealed bearing hubs). Probably a 1990. Indexed 7 speed as well, for those that don't do friction. Looks like it would clean up quite nicely, but you would want to do a complete tear-down. Mister X
That Trek probably wouldn't be too bad. Maybe if it had matching wheels but even with a rusty chain the Centurion Accord (that popped up today) would be a better choice? http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Centurion-Accord-Bicycle-17165283.html

BikeFriday is pretty cool. They do not fold as small as the Brompton, but are said to ride better. Folding small is important to me. I'l get a big-wheel road bike for long rides one of these days.
