Augsburger Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 Nice average time for the twenty miles! 1
grawk Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 I hurt my foot running and didn’t want to lose the gains i’ve made so I went out on the bike today. i rode my old mountain bike because I figured the extra weight would help. 4

grawk Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 oh for sure, those early 90s mountain bikes were basically 26" road bikes with knobby tires. I threw a goofy touring handlebar setup, because the frame is way too big for me to use with drop bars, and I wanted to ride it longer distances and be able to change up hand positions. 2
n_maher Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 Decided to ride to our vacation spot today. Didn't look at time/distance/speed once during the ride. Just rode at a pace that I thought would allow me to finish. An unexpected detour added about five and a half miles and an additional big hill or two but I survived, so no complaints. 9 1
guzziguy Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 Nice ride, Nate! Gee, I wonder where that detour was?
grawk Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 And I feel like 14 miles at 11 mph is an accomplishment Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 3
n_maher Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 ^^ It's all relative, Dan. I've got a friend in town that routinely goes out and rips off 40+ mile rides at averages well over 20mph.
grawk Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 oh I know Your worst ride are my end game goals... 2 1
Voltron Posted July 22, 2020 Report Posted July 22, 2020 You know that's not a bike, right? And that you're not supposed to have a beer while driving a car? 3 2
grawk Posted July 22, 2020 Report Posted July 22, 2020 Incremental gains. 69% humidity doesn't seem like a lot, but ugh. 6

grawk Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 Today's ride on the new to me Lemond: 17.3 miles, 13.6 mph, 798 calories, 589ft elevation gain 6
n_maher Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 Today's commute back and forth to work. It was hot. 8
Craig Sawyers Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 That, Nate, is some fancy pedalling. 1
n_maher Posted July 30, 2020 Report Posted July 30, 2020 With a little luck I'll do the commute again on Friday. 1
Augsburger Posted July 30, 2020 Report Posted July 30, 2020 You had very little elevation so I am wondering if you hit 33 and 34 mph on the flats? That is some impressive hammering! 1
grawk Posted August 3, 2020 Report Posted August 3, 2020 Riding without using the small ring, so I'll be ready when the mid-compact gets here. 1
grawk Posted August 7, 2020 Report Posted August 7, 2020 I just went to a 120/6 stem. Got me a little more reach, and a little lower. My Ultegra group is working it's way through the covid affected international air shipping. Did 25 miles/1000 Ft of climbing today. Averaged 14.9mph. Still avoiding the small ring. 3
n_maher Posted August 7, 2020 Report Posted August 7, 2020 If you want to go even more stretched out, Dan, I've got a spare 130mm stem.
