raffy Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Nice Ben! 6000+ feet of climbing, that's awesome!
n_maher Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Nice ride, Ben! We've got another storm headed this way midweek so my riding season is in full stall mode.

CD44hi Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 NIce pics! I bet it made for a fun way down
Dreadhead Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Got word from Calfee that my replacement Enve 2.0 fork with matching paint job is complete and ready to ship. Took a while but they did me a solid on the price and it's not like I don't have a current fork. Not sure the lawyer tabs were worth what it will cost me but I guess it's worth it if it gives me peace of mind. Now I just have to make it out riding once and a while. Maybe this weekend.... 1
Dreadhead Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Anyone up for an afternoon ride for 2-4 hours on Sunday afternoon starting around 1300-1330? Would be starting from my place in Alexandria Edited March 28, 2014 by Dreadhead
Nebby Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 I would be up for it but I'll be out of town
Nebby Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 What route were you planning on riding? I wouldn't mind riding around Alexandria in the future. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Dreadhead Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Had not planned a route really, was going to see what the interest level was but now I'm thinking I'll maybe try out going down to Mason Neck park or something. I apparently just need my CAC to ride through Ft. Belvoir to get down that direction.
grawk Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Did 6 miles on the CX bike I got in trade last fall. Was the first time I'd been out on it, and did some fine tuning on the fit. I've gotten it fairly close I think, but I want longer cranks I think. Anyway, I'm in TERRIBLE shape after a winter off. Hopefully I can build that back up relatively quickly.
n_maher Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 I might have a crank that would work for you depending on your definition of "longer." PM me if you want to discuss details.
Dreadhead Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Weather predicted for tomorrow is rain and more rain.... FML
n_maher Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 It's near 60 here today and the rain is holding off so I'm going to try to get a decent ride in with a couple friends after lunch. 2
raffy Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Got 43 miles in today right before the rain started. It was real blustery out so I suffered more than I wanted to but it is what it is. 1
Mister X Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Decided 36° was still to cold. Daydreaming about new shades though... http://www.tifosioptics.com/products/1120600761/ Polarized + fototec this year?
Dreadhead Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Cool. I have never felt the need for polarized lenses on my cycling glasses. I look at too many different LCDs.
aerius Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Polarized lenses can help on wet roads, it keeps the road surface from turning into a giant blinding mirror when the sun is in front of you. It also helps on busy roads, keeps car windows from acting like mirrors and blinding you. If you're not going to see much of either then polarized lenses won't really make a difference, but if you ride in the above conditions a fair bit they're worth it.
Augsburger Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Did my morning ride wearing my Tifosi glasses, I love the optics and fit. I like polarized lenses for the perceived clarity but yeah have never had the need for the anti-glare feature while riding.
n_maher Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 Got in a nice 25 miler this afternoon. It was cold (40s) and I didn't dress properly but still good to be back out on the bike. 2
Mister X Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Did my morning ride wearing my Tifosi glasses, I love the optics and fit. I like polarized lenses for the perceived clarity but yeah have never had the need for the anti-glare feature while riding. There is one stretch on my normal route where the glare gets pretty brutal with the Seek FCs after around 7:00 PM. Kinda sucks because the bifocal type lenses in the Dual SL2s would make them a no-brainer if they were polarized. https://www.dualeyewear.com/index.php/dual-sl2.html
nikongod Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 [hqiku]I took some photosRed hook Crit was last weekendIt rained quite a lot[/haiku]It was a great time, ignoring the rain. The races got moved forwards a few hours - last year it was almost too dark to shoot. It was also too crowded last year.... This year was good for the crowd level. https://www.flickr.com/photos/lord_nikon_12/sets/72157643384442023/ ^^ Should take you to the set.
raffy Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Nice pics Ari but the Red Hook Crit looks to be all hipstered out
Nebby Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Trails finally dried out enough to ride, went for two laps at Rosaryville Yes, I have an incredibly well defined cyclist tan that's showing 1
