agile_one Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Juan, Ben, and Raffy ... you guys are animals. Nice going on the rides and personal bests. JP ... maybe the GTI was telling you he was tired of hauling you around, and needed something a bit more svelte to maintain stoplight supremacy over the SI's, WRX's, Lancers, and Cooper Minis out there. You'll be back in form in no time. Hope insurance covers ...
jp11801 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 its only $3k in damage and insurance is covering all but $500 of it. I LOVE that GTI and am thinking of a leftover 2013 or the FRS. I hate long car notes and hate large payments as they cut into my ability to travel, buy shit and drink great beer/bourbon.
grawk Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 a coworker had the FR-S and HATED it. He kept it 2 months, and traded it in.
MexicanDragon Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 e92 M3s are getting pretty cheap these days... **BRENT**
dimitris Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Hey guys, Just checking in. I am an avid road cyclist especially since I have moved in Florida and I can actually cycle all year long without freezing my butt off. Cheers! 2
n_maher Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 What do you ride? We've got a pretty diverse group here.
Dreadhead Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Got in 40km in 40 degree weather. There's a local 2 mile loop that people do 50 time on new years led by my club but I didn't make it there in time. Maybe I'll get in some rides with the club later in the winter. Haven't had much luck getting out in the mornings.
Nebby Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Went for a 19 miler this afternoon over in Mt Airy, but forgot to bring my windbreaker jacket. Luckily I had my leg and arm warmers which kept me warm enough. It was a beautiful day for a ride too! Edited January 2, 2014 by Nebby
dimitris Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 I ride 2 Cervelos. An R3 and an RS. I have been able to do around 10k miles during last 3 years. What do you ride? We've got a pretty diverse group here. 1
Dreadhead Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Nice! I only got in a little over 1600 miles last year. Hoping to around double that this year if possible.
Nebby Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Just noticed the Strava Gran Fondo challenge, anyone want to try for it? Requires 130km done within 24 hours, which sounds doable as long as there's a decent day to ride in Jan...
Dreadhead Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Maybe. Pick a day and I'll see what I can do as far as getting a hall pass.
nikongod Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) 130kM = 80.5miles. Interesting... Very interesting... If only it were a bit warmer. Edited January 3, 2014 by nikongod
n_maher Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Yeah, 80 miles on the trainer, no thanks.
justin Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Set it on florida program Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nebby Posted January 3, 2014 Report Posted January 3, 2014 Yeah, 80 miles on the trainer, no thanks. Unfortunately trainer miles don't count. Not that I thought about doing 80 miles on a trainer...
Dreadhead Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I did a 120 km ride on the trainer once. I watched a movie. 1
dimitris Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Living in Orlando makes such rides doable even in this season. I am looking at photos from my old cycling club in Boston of their winter rides and I cringe.
Nebby Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Just got back from a snow ride on the trails. Not too bad, though I had to let air out of my tires to get more grip. I did find out booties weren't enough for the first half of the ride, I'll have to look at some proper winter mtb riding boots. 2
Pars Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Living in Orlando makes such rides doable even in this season. I am looking at photos from my old cycling club in Boston of their winter rides and I cringe. Fuck you! Fuck all you Florida or other southern states guys! 1
MexicanDragon Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Dude. I'm in TN. Supposed to snow tomorrow, with a high of 20. Fuck the Florida guys (and gal, if she still rides). **BRENT**
dimitris Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 It will be spring before you know it. In the meantime listen to some music.
Grahame Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Here's another approach http://instagram.com/mamotoraman
Dreadhead Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Got word that my cyclocross bike has not even entered production so I am going to cancel the order. Now the question of if I want to roll the money over to new wheels or not.
n_maher Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Why not a different cross bike? Different wheels, meh, what's not to love about the mad fibers until they break. 1
