raffy Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Fuck, I left my small chainring at home! 1
justin Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 At registration. We are the youngest people here by 30 years. We have been told the climbs will be pretty serious at 300 feet over 36 miles. were they joking?
VPI Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 No I think she was offended when Ben started making fun of the climbs as we heard the group warning each other about a certain route that had a lot of climbing.I have still not seen a participant younger than 65.
justin Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 at some point it stops being cycling and just becomes rolling down a hill
VPI Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I think it was when he equated the climb for the whole ride to riding up a driveway up in our area. The event hotel reeks of moldy popcorn oil, that is burnt. 1
justin Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I have still not seen a participant younger than 65. mike's not even there yet 1
Dreadhead Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 Wish I was down there but definitely would have been too much traveling in a single week for me.
tyrion Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 mike's not even there yet Funny, little man. This old guy is planning to arrive Friday, hopefully by 7:30 pm.
screaming oranges Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) Wish you all Sebring participants a safe ride! Edit: Justin. Ouch. Edited December 6, 2013 by screaming oranges 1
Dreadhead Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) You guys riding today? I wish I was riding today.... Edit: Glad to see my bike bag worked for you Ben Edited December 6, 2013 by Dreadhead
jp11801 Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 That looks like the park, I love riding through that place. Yes the ride is full of older people and some really huge people but some of them really kick butt. I'll get there between 8-9pm tonight, just in time for cookies and milk!
VPI Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 Yeah, everyone was pretty fit and I really saw no one that wasn't able to keep up a decent speed. My biggest challenge was trying to keep with Raffy and Ben when I could get no draft off either. After not being on the bike in 5 weeks I am seriously out of bike shape. The park was quite nice, kind of felt like riding through a zoo as everything seemed so well groomed in the park. Did not see any gators but we did see a dead catcoon and a snake. 1
Nebby Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 You guys riding today? I wish I was riding today.... Edit: Glad to see my bike bag worked for you Ben Thanks for letting me borrow it Chris, it was a piece of cake to pack and unpack the bike! 2

Jeff you should just shoot out their tires. It's Florida: you can say you felt threatened by them and you'd be fine
tyrion Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 I'll have my gun with me tomorrow, in case Jeff needs it.
VPI Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Day two is down. Raffy, Ben and I are around 80 miles total now but adding Mike and JP today made a big difference as did riding with the group. Today was a much more enjoyable ride. 3
jp11801 Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Really nice ride today not riding much it kicked my ass but was fun. 3
Iron_Dreamer Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Looks like fun in sunny Florida while the rest of the country is deep in winter gloom! Keep up the fun, guys!
