raffy Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 you need the campy cassette for the campy freehub, but the campy 11 speed is compatible with their 8-10 freehub, and it's compatible with shimano and sram 11 speed derailleurs. Got it. It's the cross-cassette to cross-RD compatibility that just happened but the cassettes still need their respective freehubs.
parris Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Justin are your proportions close to normal? If so that frame will be WAY to small for you. Looking at the specs what jumps out is the t.t. length, b.b. drop, and s.t. angle. I'm 5ft9in and ammy the 2 frames I'm on most of the time have 56 and 56.5 t.t. lengths combined with 110 and 100 stems.

agile_one Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Very handsome bike, Justin. Ninja approved.
n_maher Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 If you've already been fit to the bike I would ride it for a little while and then think about removing some of the spacers on the steerer. Right now it appears to be setup for little to no drop which isn't an issue from where I sit but as you get more comfortable on it you might want a little more aggressive position. Otherwise I'm with Gene, me likey.
Dreadhead Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) That looks like a great fit to me if you are happy with the bars where they are. Looking forward to seeing it in person tomorrow. Edited September 20, 2013 by Dreadhead
VPI Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) I don't want it to fit too well tomorrow as I do not want to lose my Strava positions on those climbs. My legs are currently dead after a leg workout so I am wondering if I can even make it up that one hill. I might even have to use the little ring. Edited September 20, 2013 by VPI 1
CD44hi Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Congrats Justin! Very good looking bike. I have the SM-PCE interphase to customize the shifting. Next time we get together to ride I can bring it down if you want to do changes to the shifting speed or modes, etc 1
VPI Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 It turns out I do have Universal Sports after all. They have Bikenado going on this month and tons of racing and bike shows. I have been watching Take a Seat: Sharing a Bike Ride Across America. Really good show about a guy on a tandem riding across the country with different special needs people. Seems like a pretty awesome concept as the guest riders seem to love the experience.
Nebby Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Very nice bike Justin! I'm also looking forward to seeing it tomorrow
VPI Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 I thought for sure we would have two C'Dale Black Inc. bikes there tomorrow. I am contemplating taking the Calfee but I will probably stick with the Cervelo.
Nebby Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) Unfortunately not, mine will be finished up tues or wed...unless I go crazy and build it myself. Edited September 20, 2013 by Nebby
Nebby Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 I have a hammer you can borrow. Perfect!
n_maher Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 I can add a spud wrench to your toolset.
Dreadhead Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) Jeff I brought my Calfee I of course have not ridden your bikes but I had a choice between the two on the roads around here I would go Calfee. Edited September 20, 2013 by Dreadhead
VPI Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 But if I took the Calfee I would have to switch out wheels sets/brake pads because I really do not like the 11-28 cassette and I want to put the Calfee on a diet.
Nebby Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) I think I can get most of the bike built myself, but I'm not very good at adjusting the derailleurs or setting up the cables so I'm playing it safe and having the shop do it. What cassette do you prefer Jeff? I'm running 11-28 and it seems alright. Edited September 20, 2013 by Nebby
VPI Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 11-26. I never find the gear I want with the 11-28 on a compact.
Nebby Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Hmm, I'm running mid-compact so that might make the difference. I'm going to run compact + 11-28 on the new bike, but hopefully the 11-speed will help.
